In first week of May 2022, I purchased a Clopay garage door ***** ***** I was told 1/2 of the garage had to be cleared to give the installer room to install the door. I picked Precision because the name implied skill and they advertised they installed garage doors correctly the first time. Soon afterward I was given a call from the installer, 1/2 of the garage was emptied and the old garage door removed and another one installed. But the installer mentioned there was some defect in the door, but it was an easy repair only taking 1 hour. The front of the door pattern indicated it was not Clopay **** door. I waited patiently for months for the repair and then when I called Precision I received a phone message to be patient for another two weeks. After several times waiting for another two weeks, I lost my patience since it had been months and the door panels were forming a depression and making a loud noise when used (apparently bending stiff plastic). Beside that a portion of the garage was not usable. I am requesting Precision again to promptly install a Clopay **** door correctlyBusiness response

To whom it may concern:
I am responding to claim made by *** ******* ****** Coincidentally, we just received the sections today. I know this sounds awful convenient (we have had a hard time getting sections due to supply shortages) but we are prepared to replace these damaged sections as early as this week. Once this is complete, the issue should be resolved.

August 5, 2022 I had Precision Garage Door Service come to my house to repair the garage door that was stuck halfway down. They had me sign a contract on a phone for $300.00. The service man called for help and when the other guy came they cut the cables and lowered the door. I was told that the door can't be repaired. They wanted to sell me a new door, cables, springs, opener etc. for $3,000.00. Said it would take 25 to 30 weeks to get all this. I said NO! I called another garage door company, Henefeld Garage Doors, Inc who fixed the door within an hour for $95.00 plus parts, $30.00 for a total of $125.00. Precision Garage Door Service turned a service call into a sales call by cutting 2 cables and saying it couldn't be repaired. I don't expect to get anything back from them, but wanted to let the public to know how they scam customers.Business response

We are very sorry to hear about your negative experience with our company. I assure you our technicians do not attempt to sell new doors just to overcharge people. They are trained to look a door over and assess the damage and make a judgment as to whether or not a door is worth repairing. If our tech felt it wasn't safe to repair, then they don't offer that as an option. Precision Door would like to offer to pay for your repair plus an additional 75.00 for a total refund of $200.00 for your trouble. Please consider this as an act of good faith and please consider us the next time you need a garage door repair. In addition, I have noted in your file to give you $100.00 off of your next repair over $200.00 if you should need us again. Please mention this if and when you book. Expect a check for $200.00 in the mail in the next few weeks.Thank you,

Entered by BBB Staff - lj Company repaired consumers garage door December 6th. Consumer charged $144 for a spring that was already there. Put one spring on and charged for two. Company also put a hole in the garage wall.Business response

Our Assistant Manager visited *** ****** home on December 10th to examine the damage to the wall, and explain the difference in the single spring that she had previously on her door versus the 2 springs that were installed on December 6th. We are currently in the process of making arrangements to repair the damage to the wall that *** **** referred to. The appointment for the repair is on Friday, January 28th, in our 8am to 10am time slot as requested by *** ****. Our hope is that *** **** will be completely satisfied with the repair once it is finished to her satisfaction. Tell us why here...Customer response
