I have been purchasing from giant eagle since July 2021. We moved to indiana and never had a issue with them until March 17,2022. The associates we’re just placing items in the cart and not paying attention to the fact they were smashing some items. I called headquarters and reported it and then the store manager Jim called me while I was in surgery and left me a voicemail stating that he wanted to fix the situation. But Jim didn’t know he never ended the call he was still on my voicemail bad talking me and said “this customer is lying we didn’t smash $109 worth of items!” Which I have the voicemail still! I confronted him and he tried back peddling so contacted corporate because this is unacceptable! It’s inappropriate to discuss customer issues with other people and not professional! I have never been so disrespected. Then to say I’ll send you gift cards NO I DONT EVER WANNA SHOP HERE AGAIN! This letter is in response to the customer complaint submitted to your office on April 10, 2022.
We would like to thank this customer for her feedback from a shopping experience on March 17, 2022, as well as from her phone conversations with the store on April 8, 2022. We apologize for any additional stress and aggravation we have caused. As per the direction giving to us by customer we refunded her entire order back onto her method of payment for that shopping experience as well as our store leader mailed out $110 in gift cards to once again apologize for the situation.
We were very happy to see that this customer accepted our sincere apology and was willing to give us another chance as she placed and purchased another curbside order with us on Tuesday April 12, 2022.
