Government Action: BBB reports on known government actions involving business’ marketplace conduct:
Commonwelath of PA v. Crown Food Carts, Inc. and Robert W. Scifo

The following describes a pending government action that has been formally brought by a government agency but has not yet been resolved. We are providing a summary of the governments allegations, which have not yet been proven.

On April 4, 2019, the US Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania filed a lawsuit against Crown Food Carts, Inc. and its owner, Robert W. Scifo, separately. The lawsuit alleges that the company entered into contracts with small businesses to sell mobile food vending trucks, carts, trailers, and supplies, but failed to deliver the products or delivered incorrect products after substantial delays. The lawsuit seeks restitution payment to all who suffered losses as a result of the defendant’s conduct, that the company and Scifo be permanently enjoined from doing business as a seller of goods or services in Pennsylvania or to Pennsylvania residents, as well as being enjoined form any practices that violate Consumer Protection Law (CPL), and that the company pay civil penalties.
