      Beware! This company took advantage of me during a crisis (flood). In April, they ripped out 2 of drywall in every room of my finished basement to remove the wetness, and they put fans in for a few day, thats it (I removed flooring, furniture, etc. on my own). The bill was over $3100!!! I did agree to $3k IF they could also provide an estimate and schedule to repair and put my basement back together, but they never answered me when called repeatedly. ***** DID get back to me about the invoice (2 months later) and instead of trying to help to solve my concerns about the unfinished commitment, he threatened to take me to the magistrate. Who does this to their customers? It is a shame that this company takes advantage of people in crisis. DO NOT HIRE Duckstein if you expect restore + repair, they over commit and under deliver. They left my house a complete mess.UNACCEPTABLE.

      We are sorry for your negative experience. Duckstein Restoration's goal for all customer's is a positive experience from start to completion. With that said, as it was explained to you, insurance claims like this are a two step process; first, water mitigation to stop further damage and dry the affected areas out, then the repairs of putting everything back together. Duckstein Restoration works by assignments given to us from insurance carriers. We did not have the repairs work assigned to us. Due to capacity we do not write estimates for repairs unless we were assigned to do so by the insurance carrier.Regarding the bill, we do not control pricing. Estimates are written on industry specific estimating software with predetermined pricing. All work completed was to IICRC industry standards and reviewed then approved by your insurance carrier. There was no mention of the magistrate until you said you were not sure what you wanted to do about paying for the services we completed and were going to "split hairs" Additionally, the crews take extra care to make sure homes are cleaned up of all debris and dusts to the best of their ability. Judging from the pictures they are required to take, it appears your home was cleaned of all debris and building materials as expected. Again, we apologize that this was a negative experience and hope this can be remedied in a professional matter. Please contact our office and ask for the general manager to discuss.
