We built and moved into our new home on 8/14/2020. On 8/19/2020, we had Baker Epoxy apply an epoxy coating to our garage floor. We paid $2,400 for the work. The contract includes a 15 year warranty on materials and workmanship. On 9/7/2021, I first reached out to Shannon B**** via ******** messenger to explain our garage floor had yellowed and provided photos. She explained the yellowing was due to a UV top coating not being applied, which they do not typically apply to interior garages. We did not know this was an option or would even be an issue, as we have windows in our garage and when the doors are up the sun shines inside. She explained they would absolutely take care of the issue. After multiple back and forth messages due to them being short staffed or too busy, we were finally told we were scheduled for January 2022. We then received no further communication until I reached out in February 2022 and was told Jayson would stop out that week to look at our floor. Jayson never came out and we received no further communication until I messaged Shannon again in July 2022. In July 2022 we were told we were scheduled for 8/15/22. On 8/10/22 we were told they couldn't do the work that day anymore as they were too busy, but they would stop out to look at the floor. At 8pm on 8/15/22, the night Jayson was to come out, Shannon said Jayson was still 45 minutes away from home. I told her because it was late we could reschedule. I received no further communication and reached out again on 9/13/22 with no response on Facebook messenger. On 10/11/22 my husband emailed Shannon and she replied on 10/27/22 asking for our availability for the coming weekend. We provided same and she has not responded since, even after multiple emails asking when they'll be out. It has been 1 year and 2 months since I first reached out to Shannon regarding the issue. We have been more than accommodating and would like our floor repaired pursuant to the warranty.

On Feb 2022 i reached out to receive a quote for a concrete overlay from Baker Epoxy, Jason was out and i receive a quoted amount of $4000.00, $2000.00 deposit paid the same day 2/21/2022. I was told the work would be starting on 4/11/2022 and would take approximately 1 week to complete, understanding weather was a factor. The demo crew stacked all debris in my yard and was not going to remove until i said something about it - they did take after discussion. the installation ended up taking until 5/26/2022 and was not completed in full - the overlay was down BUT the steps were and still are not to code, face of patio was never started and was told they would be out in a week to complete. they did not show, we then had rain and noticed multiple issues of water puddling in locations under patio door, along foundation, and in the corner of the house. we were told they would be out to fix this. My wife repeatedly texted, called, messages to no avail for MONTHS. they finally came back on 9/9/2022 and "fixed" the water issue but in reality made the issue worse. the newly installed items were not sealed and now there is a crack running the width of the patio, and my patio door is now sagging due to not being supported in the center like i was promised it would be. My wife reached out to Baker again to find out what the next step/resolution will be with NO RESPONSE! This job has been a mess, they ruined decorative stone, my grill, hose connector, and other items and literally laughed " haha i will replace your stone" . I also want to note that on 5/26/2022 i was told the job cost $1800.00 more than quoted with no verbal, oral, or written quote provided. this caught me off guard and we will not be paying this extra amount in its' entirety - unfortunately we paid $200.00 extra dollars just so we could keep them coming back to compete the work.We have EXTENSIVE images to provide. the quality of the work is poor at best

On 08-31-2019 Baker Epoxy Coatings (owner, Jaysen B****) repaired cracks in my rear cement patio slab & resurfaced it, $515.00. In QUOTE Jaysen emailed states under conditions, 1. 15 yr wtty on materials & workmanship & under special conditions "15 yr wtty on materials & workmanship". On 08-30-21 I first texted Jaysen re: cracks again in surface, then emailed him on 09-06-21. I continued to text & email with no response until eventually Jaysen responded, told me he'd repair/resurface my patio first week in July 2022. He did not come. I texted/emailed him many times over period of time, he eventually contacted me he'd hurt his back. (Jaysen owns this co. & has employees working for him that do the work) I texted him told him I was sorry but when could I expect repair. I've been texting/emailing him ever since, for past almost 2 months, and he has refused to respond to me. I know his company is performing other jobs, I see pictures/posts of them on his ******** page. He is ignoring me so refusing to honor wtty, refusing to stand by his work. I paid a LOT of money for patio repair/resurface that lasted only 2 yrs but was under warranty for 15. (I HAD TO USE 3 LINES FOR THE DESIRED RESOLUTION, they are not 3 separate resolutions, I used 3 lines because I ran out of space, one line continues on to the next) I have no way to "upload" anything, but I can make copies & mail them. Please contact me (************.*** or ************ (leave a message with address), and I will mail you paperwork I have) Jaysen originally sent me quote on his company paperwork with scope of work & pricing. I paid him 1/2 down, 1/2 on completion. I asked him over & over for receipt & copy of warranty. I never received receipt. He eventually (MUCH later) emailed me QUOTE stating he 15 yr warranty, not on his company paper.

I hired Baker Epoxy in April of 2020. I was informed that my project would be completed in June of 2020.In June, I began reaching out bi-weekly to see when the project would be started. Meanwhile, my deposit was cashed in April of 2020. I was told the project would be delayed a few weeks due to COVID. June and July came and went. Every time I inquired when the project would be started, I was informed they would be starting in a week or two, but they never showed up. I called ******* numerous times, and she never answered the phone. She stopped answering text messages. On 8/9 they showed up begin the project. On 8/10, I tapped into my camera and overheard a conversation between the two employees about doing drugs and that the business was a scam. Link to the video: https://*************************************************** This video was eventually sent to ******.When the project was finally "completed" on 9/3, I came home from work to a sloppy mess of epoxy splatters. After a few days, it rained. You can see from the photos what my finished project turned into. A horrible mess. They didn't seal it correctly, and water became trapped underneath the clear coat. I contacted them right away and ****** assured me that they would fix the project and fix the sloppy mess of splattered epoxy they left behind. In September, I was told that they needed to order a better sealant. On 10/6, I was contacted by ****** stating that the product was in and they would be out the week of 10/18 to fix this disaster. They never came that week. Nor did they come the following, or the week after that. On 11/14, I was told that they would give me my money back, but after 3 weeks, I never got it. I was BLOCKED on ******** from commenting on their page. My lawyer sent a demand letter through certified mail. They received the letter on 12/7 and have not sent me my money

      Customer response

      12/15/2021

Just wanted to document that I did receive a refund from Baker Epoxy, although it took me to jump through many hoops to finally get it. At this point, I do not need further assistance from the Better Business Bureau. However, I want it to be documented how poorly this company has treated me as a customer, and how exhausting it was to communicate with them and to finally receive my refund.
