Mid Penn Bank fsiled to wire transfer a $5000 deposit to ************ to purchase my English bulldog puppies on 8/17/22. This wire transfer was flagged by Mid Penn Bank who stated they were a scam and refused to send ************ my deposit. I've attached the email I sent to Mid Penn Bank regarding the wire transfer which never received a response. Instead I did receive a call from a representative who stated this was a scam and my money is now safe with Mid Penn Bank. That representative said I should buy my puppies locally. I have been in contact with ************ for over 2 years so I was surprised by Mid Penn Banks actions. Since banking with Mid Penn Bank there have been several instances that still remain unresolved such as disputed transactions. Because of all the unusual banking practices I encountered with Mid Penn Bank I decided to take a trip to Ohio and trust ************. Instead of the original arrangements I made with ************ which was meeting me halfway to finalize purchase details I had to instead take a trip and book a hotel in Ohio. The decision Mid Penn Bank made on my behalf cost me well over $1000 and 3 days off work which can be seen on my banking statements. Recently I noticed several NFS fees on both accounts totalling $160. I requested overdraft protection several times so I'm not understanding why these fees have been charged to my accounts. I have been wanting to close my accounts since the wire transfer but have been too busy to do so. I want all all fees reversed prior to my arrival today totalling $160 to close these accounts. I strongly believe that the reversal of these fees is a minimal request when calculated with the unwarranted expenses and time spent from Mid Penn Bank decision to refuse wiring money to ************ as requested. I have attached registration papers for *** & **** to show that ************ wasn't a scam and I am now a proud puppy owner of 2 Engl

      ****************,

Thank you for sharing your concerns.  I have reviewed your complaint.  Per the Bank's Wire Form and instructions, the Bank has authority to decline to send a wire.  Security Department requested an invoice from *********** which was not submitted; therefore, the wire request was declined for potential fraud.  The Bank is not responsible for overdrafts on the account due to this decision; however, a review of your account noted an $80 courtesy reimbursement.

      Thank you.

This bank double penalities their customers. I have overdrafted my acccount from time to time and I am charged with the $40 overdraft fee and then charged another $40 for returned check and then when I deposit a check they put a 5 day hold on my account and then say I am liable for n e overdrafts well my check is on hold.

      **************** -

Please refer to the Terms and Conditions, Overdraft Addendum that was provided to you prior to Mid Penn Bank's acquisition of Riverview Bank.  The Bank does not charge overdraft fees against an account when there are not available funds to pay for an item due to delayed availability, as long as there are sufficient funds in the account to pay the item if the hold would not be in place.  Please contact me with any questions regarding any specific fees and/or transactions.

      Thank you,

Unfortunately I continue experiencing problems with banking services provided by Mid Penn Bank for business. On May 18th 2022 I emailed information to their local service representative and branch manager to provide detailed documentation to support my reasoning for disputing a few transactions on a recent trip to California. The email and documentation was provided to ensure Mid Penn Bank and their partner company Fiserv who handles Mid Penn Banks dispute process had all the information ensure my account would be credited for services not provided. Towards the end of May 2022 I recieved mail from Mid Penn Bank with claim information regarding disputed transactions and noticed alarming inaccuracies. At this time provisional credits were issued that shouldn't have been and I can't even figure out what my true account balance is. I spent 20 hours over several days to gather information regarding these disputes to eliminate this from happening. I am unsure why I need to continue spending additional time correcting and fixing issues that I treid to prevent from the beginning. I have not recieved any updates from Mid Penn Bank or Fiserv informing me that this matter was rectified. I am very concerned not knowing my account balan since I recently purchased a new home and don't know my account balance. On July 1st I recieved letters from Mid Penn Bank dated June 15th 2022 requesting additonal information within 7 days from date of letter which expired before I even opened it. I'm still have issues using my debit card even after raising my daily limit to $5000. When debit card ending in 4181 gets declined I am then forced to use my other debit card ending in **** as a backup. On 6/21/22 I was forced to use my card ending in **** because I needed gas which caused that account to be overdrawn. I also am using credit cards when my debit card gets flagged so I am paying interest on purchases I shouldn't have to because the Mid Penn Bank card is unreliable. See attachements

Mid Penn Bank has been actively working with ************ to resolve the complaint.  On February 4th, a transaction from ******* for $69.95 posted to ***********'s account.  ************ disputed the transaction, and a Regulation E dispute was created.  The customer's **** debit card was closed due to the fraudulent transaction.   The dispute was resolved, and the money was redeposited to the customer's account on 3/21/22.  A copy of the letters that were mailed to the customer are attached.  The Bank did receive instructions from ************ to close is account, the letter from ************ is attached, however; the Bank will continue to work with ************ to ensure access to his funds and will keep his account open until SSA benefits are received.
