August 17, 2023 I told an employee "excuse me, I need some help." Her and the cashier took turns to scream at me "what do you want?" They were discussing the way I was dressed in a nasty way in Hindi. I was dressed in shorts. I am an ethnic Indian from the diaspora and I speak Hindi. Their customer service is atrocious. I had to wait and when she finally came she did not really help me find anything. When I got home and cut open the bags of spices that I bought I got no scent of spices. They seemed expired but when I checked the labels I noticed that they were not. This means that the spices that they sell are mixed with some kind of husk. I could not be sure until I cooked with the spices. I did this Sunday and I had to throw away the food because it tasted very husky. This proves that Patel Brothers is mixing their spices with more than 50% of husk. Not only is this robbery, but people who are unaware of how food cooked with Indian spices should smell and taste will eat it and get sick or poisoned. Patel Brothers is getting away with this because people in America do not know this. I am from Guyana and my ancestors came from India so I know the smell and taste of all the Indian spices. This is terrible and must be stopped.
