June 22,2022 $2000 cash down Vehicle price 10,998 Purchased this car,a week later they car was burning oil,35 days after receipt of said Vehicle the engine blew. Dealer had me pay out of pocket for a tow to tell me the car has 4 open recalls and needs towed to a dealership, said dealership has no openings to even look at my car till after Sept 1. Dealership won't give me a loaner or pay for rental or e en switch me into a different vehicle. Expect to pay on said vehicle while it will be in shop for 2 month.Business response

I believe we have already responded to a complaint from *** **** *egarding the purchase of her 2012 Hyundai Sonata. This vehicle was purchased on 5/22/2022 with 89,642 miles on it. The vehicle currently has 92,831. The vehicle has been driven almost 3,200 miles in the 6 weeks of *** ******* ownership.
We received a phone call approximately 10 days ago from *** **** stating that the engine in her vehicle was making noise. We explained to her that the engine was more than likely going to be faulty (due to our history dealing with these vehicles) and that Hyundai had a campaign on these vehicles and would Install a brand-new engine if this was the case. We immediately dispatched a tow truck at our cost to pick up the vehicle. We had the vehicle returned to Choice Auto where our technicians diagnosed the vehicle and determined the engine was indeed faulty. We called Cochran Hyundai of Monroeville and set up an appointment to move the vehicle to their location for repair. We then called *** **** and relayed the news; the engine was faulty, but Hyundal would Install a brand-new engine free of charge.
*** **** asked Choice Auto for a loaner vehicle and we informed her we did not offer such amenities as our insurance company strictly forbids them. However, we did explain that her vehicle would be outfitted with a brand-new factory engine at no cost to her. Although It would be a little bit of an inconvenience, she was getting over a $6,000 Job completely free. We also explained that we were not charging her for the tow(either tow actually), so I am not sure where *** **** is stating that she has $200 tow involce, Although I can sympathize with *** **** and the inconvenience she may be dealing with;I feel this is of no way a responsibility or reflection on Choice Auto.The vehicle was manufactured by Hyundai and they recognized there was an issue with their engine design. They are installing a brand-new factory engine with a warranty in the vehicle. I think it is also important to note that the car was driven 3, 189 miles without any issues, We also had the vehicle fully serviced and it just went through a complete PA state inspection and emission inspection and had a full oll service as well as a 4-wheel alignment. Again, we are not charging the customer for either of the two tows and she will be getting a brand-new factory engine with a warranty on it for no charge.
