I had Choice Home Remodeling install seven windows on Friday, April 14, 2023. Two of the windows do not work properly. When the men finished the installation, no one showed me how to operate the windows. I did not open any of the windows until Sunday, April 16, 2023. five of the windows work perfectly with no problems. When one of the workers came back on Friday, April21, 2023 to do inside repair work for a different window that had rain damage, I showed him the problems with the two windows and he agreed they were not working right. He also said the windows should stayed closed for two weeks to settle. The company ordered parts to repair the windows and do not understand why new windows need to be repaired. The problem with these two windows is when opened they will not stay in the position I put hem at and will not lock unless I hold the top sash down when engaging the locks. Sometimes the top sash will drop and I have to push it up to engage the locks. The other problem involves the workers not double checking when I saw there was too much of a gap ( day light coming through) at the top left of the twin kitchen window. The workers did not listen to me and shim the window up a little. When finishing the 3 inch j- channel on the outside of the window, the j-channel does not look straight across the top of the window and does not stay in line with the siding. It drops exactly where I told them there was a gap on the inside. The company states they are dedicated to the details, so when I asked them to double check the window placement they should have made sure it was aligned properly for both the inside and outside. The gap inside was filled in with caulk, but that didn't work for the outside. I don't want quick fix repair on a brand new window. There is no guarantee the problem will not occur again and again. I am 70 years old and if they have to come back again and again, I have to move furniture and curtains again and againBusiness response

Yes we know ******************************* very well. ********************* our sales Manager has personally sat down with her about the situation to establish the next steps.
Our service department reached out multiple times to send technicians out to address her concerns. For the record, her concerns are legitimate. Our company stands by excellent workmanship and when an issue arises, we take care of it ASAP. In this case our window manufacturer made her twin window unit with balance/tension too strong. It is an easy fix. It can be taken care of with 2 window balance components.
She refuses to schedule a time to gain access to her home. Stating: she wants new windows from the factory, which we feel is unreasonable, when 2 components would make it brand new.
The other issue. Our installers must set windows square and plumb to the opening, so the product works correctly, I haven't seen the issue personally but would like the opportunity to make it right if we are in the wrong.Full disclosure, we have taken this case to the magistrate for collection.
