Zimmerman's Roofing did some roof repair and gutter work at our home in 2020. We were told our gutters were not sufficient and had to "upgrade" the gutters to keep the bricks dry. Unfortunately, those "upgraded" gutters have still not been sufficient and multiple contractors have indicated that the gutter/downspout should never have been mounted against the bricks (especially not when our original complaint was wet bricks, wet walls, etc.). Once again, the bricks became so saturated with water that the water came through the walls. One of our kitchen walls (and maybe one wall in the 1/2 bathroom) has to be torn down to the original horse-hair plaster to dry out and then it will need to be re-plastered and re-painted. That is in addition to "upgrading" the gutter again!! Both my husband and I contacted Zimmerman's roofing to speak to someone about this and the only solution the company offered was to charge us another $99 to come take a look. Why would I want to pay them $99 to look at what they didn't do correctly the first time and then get charged for materials for them to possibly install it incorrectly a second time? Why would the installer not have known to put a spacer (not sure of the technical term) between the bricks and the gutters?? I will definitely never recommend Zimmerman's Roofing to anyone based on this very disappointing experience.

Met with *********************************** and ********************* on Wednesday 8/2/23.  No service fee charged as I wanted to see their concerns about roof, gutter and downspout repairs we performed in September 2020 firsthand. The concern arose when an inspector told them that the downspout location may be causing paster bubbling inside the first floor kitchen. I inspected the condition of the gutter and downspout and everything was installed correctly and is holding up well over the last 3 years. No signs of leaking gutter or downspout. Both were mounted correctly. Nothing needed to be changed or adjusted. Reviewed with **** and **** and both were in agreement. Unfortunately, the inspector may have provided some misleading information. Hopefully we were able to eliminate one of their potential concerns about their bubbling interior plaster. Spoke with **** on 8/3/23 via phone and he agreed they would retract this BBB Complaint.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Can you please remove the complaint? We were provided incorrect information by the inspector. Zimmermans Roofing is in NO WAY responsible for this issue.

      Thank you,

When I got the estimate for the roof replacement I told ******************* I wanted a "cricket" behind the chimney and the edge of the roof trimmed, he wrote it on his notes but didn't put it on the contract. Zimmerman roofing subcontracted the job to a group of people. I got home they were cleaning up, *********************************( project manager) was here and I asked him about the cricket and trimming the roof and he said we didn't do that.he agreed to replace the gutters which will address the lack of trimming the roof. And he said he would pu a diverter behind the chimney which they did , THAT WILL NOT WORK.

We agreed a cricket would be installed behind ********************** chimney. Unfortunately, a diverter was installed in lieu of the cricket as our technician did not believe there was adequate room for a cricket. That was our mistake. ****************** and I did talk today 3/17 and I agreed to have the cricket installed and sent him a sketch of the cricket for his review (attached). Upon his approval of the sketch this work will be completed. While at the property we also inspected his attic fan to make sure the thermostat and humidistat settings were set appropriately as ****************** had concerns the fan was running too much. The settings were adjusted and the fan is functioning properly.

Our intent is to complete the item in ***************************** complaint to his satisfaction.

On January 28, 2022, we entered into a contract with Zimmerman's Roofing to replace our slate shingle roof. We arranged for financing to pay for the contract and our credit report was examined and approved (resulting in a hit on our credit). A Project Manager inspected our home on February 9 to plan for the project. We were informed on February 16 that the contractor would be terminating the contract and would not complete the project.

A credit check is performed any time a consumer applies for financing from a lender. In this case ******************* ran a credit check. Financing was approved to the homeowner and is still available to them to use with another contractor if they choose. ********* can also be contacted if you wish to cancel the financing altogether. The phone number to call is ************. This request must come from the financing applicant.
