I hired this company on 8/16 to do a punch list of items around my home. These tasks included carpentry on my stairs, flooring and trim work, a bathroom refresh, and some painting in a stairwell. When the owner came to look at the job, all of these items were discussed in detail and understood. I had already ordered the new bathroom appliances, etc., and they were on site ready to be installed. I received their estimate within a few days and made my deposit, and the work started within about 3 days of my deposit being paid. After the first day of them working, I started to see how unprofessional they were. They didn't clean up any of the debris that was left all over the floor. Then at the end of the second day of work, they said they were done and wanted to be paid. I looked around at what still needed to be done and referred to the contract. That's when I noticed that they never included at least 1/3 of the work we discussed in my estimate. I didn't catch it previously not only due to my deteriorating eyesight, but because of the deceptive run-on syntax used in the estimate. I paid them even though I was obviously expecting to have a working bathroom when they were done, but apparently to reinstall my bathroom was an additional charge. I had gotten other estimates from other companies, so if I'd known that was the case I would have gone with someone else. For as little as they actually did, I was being well-overcharged, especially considering the fact that they didn't clean up once, didn't buy any of the materials, and performed shoddy work. I went to look up their insurance info to make a Errors & Omissions claim, and their insurance card was illegible and expired. They're not even registered with the PA Bureau of Corporations as an actual company, so they couldn't possibly have insurance because they're not licensed to do business in the state. They've already been reported to the PA Attorney General as well.
