I ordered a ******* PTO powered Chipper/Shredder on 1/11/2022 costing $2,498. It was received around the end of January but didn't get it fully assembled until 3/21/2022. Used it for the first time on 3/22/2022, but due to factory misaligned pulleys, the drive belt came off and was damaged. The misalignment of the pulleys was discovered as I tried to reinstall the belt. Contacted Steve at MacKissic and sent a replacement belt and walked me through how to align the pulleys. Got the pulleys aligned and the belt installed and discovered the drive pulley was cracked. Contacted Steve at MacKissic and after several tries via email and phone, he told me that he had never had this pulley crack. I followed his verbal instructions on how to align the pulleys and I was tightening a little at a time on each of the 3 bolts, but they were tight, and the alignment was still 1/16" inch off. I also had to slide the shaft that held the pulley forward as far as it could be moved in order to allow the space for attaching the PTO fitting, but even with this there was only 1/2". Steve questioned me if I had cracked the pulley, but I knew that the bolts would have to be tightened evenly or risk cracking the pulley, so I had tightened the evenly. Steve agreed to ship a replacement pulley, The pulley is held by a steel fitting that Steve said slips on the shaft, but I had to use a gear puller to remove it and I had to hone the opening in order to put it back on the shaft to hold the new pulley. Got the machine together and used it for about 3-4 hours and the PTO sheared the lock key and damaged the shaft. Now I have spent more time trying to get it working then having it work for me. This has all been documented with pictures, emails and phone calls, but learned that when I called and had to leave a message, that I would not receive a call back, except for the time I told the lady I was never called back.
