IN MAY OF 2022, I HIRED CAIN CONSTRUCTION MGT TO RENOVATE MY HOME AND GAVE THE OWNER, CARL M****, $2,127.50 FOR MATERIALS TO BUILD A DECK. IN JUNE, $2,200 (PAID IN FULL) FOR FENCING AND $3,375 (PAID IN FULL) FOR SIDING. IN AUGUST, $4,500 DEPOSIT FOR MATERIALS FOR THE RENOVATION OF THE BEDROOM. SINCE MY, THE ONLY THING THAT HAS BEEN DONE IS THE REMOVAL OF THE SIDING FROM THE BACK WALL. IN NOVEMBER, MR. M**** ASKED ME TO CONTACT A MR. **** WHOM HE HAD ASKED TO HELP OUT. I MET WITH MR. **** SEVERAL TIMES AND HE AGREED TO TAKE OVER THE PROJECT. STILL NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO DATE BECAUSE MR. M**** HAS NOT GIVEN MR. **** THE MATERIALS OR MONEY THAT I GAVE HIM FOR THE PROJECTS. THANKS.Initial Complaint

June 2022. I paid $10,450 deposit for construction on my daughters home. We worked with the contractor together on this, but I was paying. Repeated no shows/no calls for starting work. Never received material samples promised. I have documented many texts (have them), phone calls and emails with promises. I put a timeline together and attached that below (project issues). We were getting more concerned. There were many excuses, some may have been true. He lost his PM due to death of a child. Father passed away. Trucks broke down (in shop/sent wrong part.) Etc. He told us he was sending his commercial project manager, King, to take care of this for us. A month or so and several phone calls later we met with King. He seemed confused when he saw the project site. He had been told it was a small floor project. King said it couldn't be done the way Carl and Hector proposed. He asked to return with with an engineer to discuss options on how to do the project. After the 2nd visit, we felt something wasn't right and called King to discuss what his relationship was with Carl. That was when we were told that he does not work for Carl. King didn't know that we paid money to Carl. We told King that his picture was on Carl's website as a project manager when we checked it out. King said that he once had to get an attorney to have Carl remove his photo. All 3 of us then checked the Cain website and found that the page with the staff photos had been taken down. King then told us he was trying to reach Carl for the last 2 days and Carl was not answering him. King grew upset and was going to try to contact others who may know where Carl is. I said it is possible he is in Texas. He told me earlier that he was going to try to expand his business to Texas. At this point we have to find someone to do the project. It is rather urgent. I realize that I have been scammed and now have less money to do the work. . Carl is not returning inquiries.
