I joined IJL because of its history and its onboarding includes an in-depth interview. I was assured that I would meet people who align with my relationship expectations, interest, and personality. Although I desired only dates and no long-time commitments, my consultant said that wasn't usual and they have members who will meet my expectations. I meet with ***** (my matchmaker) and he did not seem to read any of my criteria. He paired me with someone who had absolutely nothing in common with me and said he was a "nice guy" therefore I should just go on a date with him. When I said I wasn't interested, ***** that was my monthly selection rather than finding another person who has more in common with my interests. I called customer service to let them know my dissatisfaction, and I was told since I'm 51, I should not be so picky. The next month, ***** sent me on another match with ******. I never received a follow-up regarding the set date and when the day occurred, my date never showed up. I emailed and left a message for *****, and again, he never responded. Note: members are never given contact numbers or emails, but if ****** had an emergency, he could have easily called the restaurant. Again, I called IJL customer service and they were "listened" to but never received a return call from ***** or a supervisor as I requested. At this point, this service is a complete scam. I just wanted dates with people who have a similar background and interests as well as close in age that I have, but IJL tosses anyone without considering that we may be a good match. There are free dating services that can do better. I would settle for a partial refund as I don't trust this company has my best interests at all. They took my money and ran.Initial Complaint

In January of 2022, I purchased a membership to It's just Lunch, ( who have since moved me around a bit in their "markets" from Phila, Atlantic City, Morristown, etc) and have subsequently had the WORST experience from a service industry business I have every had in my entire life. I have several times tried over the phone and in email to rectify the situation and continually get the run around from any and all employees I've dealt with . I have been told my requests to shorten my contract would be reviewed and I'd get a call back within two days - I was completely ignored. They are the most unprofessional organization I've ever dealt with and I want half my money back for only 1/8th of work they've done for me. Below is the email I sent them a few weeks ago - it was again, not handled at all. I want to thank you all for your efforts in helping me search for an ideal date for me, but it seems the pool is quite dry.The selections I’ve been presented with have been sooo basic and while I’m sure they’re nice enough people, their personal grooming and physical appearances, not to mention attention to their physical fitness - have been extremely subpar. Therefore, I need to respectfully request 1/2 of my investment back on this dating attempt with IJL. It’s been since January and to be frank, I am exhausted. I’ve been on only one date in 9 months of trying this out. I can appreciate it takes time to find someone, but even when you have, they’ve sounded sort of great/okay on paper, but then either look horrible in their photos and like they have no idea what a collared shirt is and/OR they live at least an hour, if not more, away from me. I Please let me know how to proceed. I realize I’ve been “matched” with 6 people so far, so in asking for 1/2 my fee back, I absolutely am fine with you discontinuing the search altogether at that point. Again, they ignored this completely and I'm still waiting for answers, and it's been MONTHS! Please help!?Initial Complaint

In August, 2019, I entered into a contract for $2,750.00 for 12 match introductions with Its Just Lunch. They provided false claims about their capacity to deliver eligible matches and made promises knowing that they would not be able to fulfill what they agreed upon. When it became clear that they were unable to fulfill the specifications of our agreement, they refused to terminate our contract, as per my wishes, and would only agree to credit me $1,500.00 and downgrade my plan from a twelve-date plan to a three-date plan (valued at $1,250.00). Since that time, not only has Its Just Lunch failed to provide suitable matches, they have repeatedly violated the scope and substance of our agreement and are now refusing to honor the agreement by providing the last introductions. The below is a partial list of the violations by their company. Since we began working together, Its Just Lunch has: 1. Arranged and sent me on an in-person date with a convicted felon who lived outside of the agreed-upon service area and had a criminal history. They put me in an unsafe situation and have never properly taken ownership for this behavior. 2. They matched me with someone with serious social adjustment issues and devout religious beliefs who was seeking someone equally devout and the matchmaker admitted this was based on racial profiling (because we are both minorities). 3. They agreed to fulfill 3 in person dates and have not done so. 4. They have grossly misrepresented themselves and their services and have discriminated against me and others based on race and disability.According the terms of our contract, refunds will be made if IJL breaches its obligations in this agreement. IJL has clearly breached their obligations by failing to set me up with eligible matches in my service area and repeatedly behaving in an unprofessional and misleading manner.Initial Complaint

They took my money $2600. Was supposed to set me up with a professional like person my request was had to be ********* had to know about my young children and be OK with that and a professional man. He was not a ********* he had no idea I had children he had front teeth missing he was 10 to 15 years older than his picture and he proceeded to tell me he was tased not once but twice by UFOs. Being a single woman I am in fear this is not a man I would ever have anything to do with. Their integrity as a company is lacking they have lied installing my money
