Clayton *. P********** was the individual at the Title/transfer company that was involved in the sale of my home at ********************. At that time he advised me that he needed to withhold $4000.00 and place it in escrow for an inheritance tax/search. This occurred approximately on November 12, 2021. Since that date I have tried contacting Clay, that’s what he goes by, to find out the status of his research and filing. Clay continues to give me the run around advising that he hasn’t filed the paper yet, that there are forms that I need to sign, that the mail is slow, that he has my money, etc. Now he won’t answer any of my calls, texts, etc. I asked what papers do I need to sign for the papers could have been given to me at the time that he took my money, placed it on a settlement sheet, placed it in escrow and now refuses to answer my calls, explain to me the current process, or return to me my money if nothing was found. If something was found to send me the documented findings from that bureau on their letterhead. Clay advised me that no one could help me and that after my house settled that the lender has NO SAY in any of this. So you are my first course of action to see if there is someone out there that can assist me. There were also other fees on that same settlement sheet that I did not understand and he could not explain to me. The Manager from the lending company had to question him to get those answers and he was quite deceptive. I’d like my money, my $4000.00 that he’s holding in escrow. It’s been since November 2021, enough time to process, mail, and get a response. He should not be able to hold my money without interest and give me no explanation, or ignore my phone calls, messages, and text messages. Your attention to this matter is greatly appreciated. Please accept this as a formal response. *** ****** was selling her property to her son. She had owned the house with her now deceased husband. In PA, anyone who dies while having an interest in property, an automatic lien is placed on the property for PA Inheritance Tax. I could not issue clear title insurance to the buyer or lender without this having been addressed. We advised *** ******, we would close, hold and escrow for inheritance taxes, and wait until we received a notice of determination from the PA Dept. of Revenue Inheritance Tax Division. She was advised this is a lengthy process, but that that her portion of the inheritance tax bill would be returned as soon as the determination received. She immediately began calling and texting at all hours of the night. I politely responded multiple times of where we were at in the process. Then she filed this.
This complaint is ridiculous, and this person does not seem all with it.
I would also point out, “The ********* Firm” has absolutely nothing to do with this transaction. Our company name is Bedrock Land Transfer Services LLC.

I am rejecting this response because: the issue is not resolved. Clay dimly responded to a second request to information. The first request fr information was ignored. I don’t know when the 9 months begin or end for my money to be returned but I do appreciate him finally responding to my many attempts for some sort of an answer. It’s definitely not resolved. I haven’t received my money or a definitive answer.
