I became a member of their massage and facial services, in August I tried canceling my membership. I wrote on the online form and it went to the Upper St Clair location. I received a VM from Upper St Clair saying it went to them and I had to call North Fayette because that was my home membership. Ok. So I call and say I have to cancel due to money. She tells me that it’s after the cut off and September’s payment will still go through. This wouldn’t be the case if the cancellation form went to the correct office because it was before the cutoff. Okay again. So I decided to forgo things I needed for this $70 payment because it’s one month I will figure it out. Then I go to book an appointment for a massage as a nonmember in October because I still had the September credit along with a gift card they talked me into buying. This call was October 13th. She tells me I have two credits. Then she tells me that I’m still listed as a member, but she can see if my record that in August I did submit a cancellation email. They choose to ignore it. I get angry because this shouldn’t be that hard. Sure enough I check my bank account and I have a pending charge with Hand and Stone. As soon as I get off the phone I email the manager. Again that was on the night of October 13th. I still have not received written confirmation that I have been canceled. I haven’t received any communication but I would prefer written for my records because they can’t keep ahold of phone conversations. I want my money for September and October refund because these credits are useless and if these people knew how to communicate I wouldn’t have wasted $140.

I was so excited to schedule my first massage at hand and stone in ********, **. After scheduling the first time for an appointment in November 2023, I was sadly disappointed when the spa informed me that my appointment was never truly scheduled. I had called in to make the appointment and apparently the person on the phone did not schedule me. So I rescheduled for a later date but in between found out I was pregnant. I called the spa to inform them and they told me the policy was to schedule for my 2nd trimester with a prenatal massage therapist. I again spoke to someone on the phone at the ******** hand and stone who scheduled me for February 13 ****. She assured me I was scheduled with a prenatal massage therapist. The date of my scheduled massage came and I received a phone call from The spa about 5 hours prior to my appointment. Once again, they were canceling my appointment this time, because whoever scheduled me, who assured me, I was scheduled with a prenatal massage. Therapist, did not in fact, schedule me appropriately. They explain they legally could not do the massage without the prenatal massage therapist. They tried to offer me appointments but unfortunately, they do not fit my schedule at this time. I cannot express my frustration at this point. If I, the paying customer canceled my appointment within the 24 hour period, I would be charged a $35 fee. But they called me 5 hours prior to my appointment and canceled my appointment. The appointment was made because I received a gift card for my birthday. I asked for a refund on the gift card. And they could not do that because of some ridiculous policy.Hand and stone in ******** has inconvenienced me several times. They cannot really offer me any real solution. And they told me to call corporate to get a refund on my gift card. If I could give them a zero star rating I would.
