Amy, the owner/CPA made a major error on my 2019 tax return, which we paid her $150 to prepare. She failed to list any of the state income tax my husband and I paid, shown on our W-2s. This led the state to come after us for back taxes, which we did not in fact owe. When I brought this to Amy's attention she did not rectify the error. In her own words, she simply re-sent the tax return she had prepared, with the error in it. Upon bringing that failure to her attention she again did nothing. I was forced to consult with the Regional Taxpayer Assistance Office for help and advice to fix the issue on my own. So far this error has cost me approximately three hours of my own time in attempting to contact Amy via text, email and phone; in my own research and examination of the tax return Amy prepared; and in seeking advice from the Taxpayer Assistance Office. Not to mention the amount of stress over receiving and having to solve a taxpayer delinquency notice This is work I paid Amy $150 to make sure I wouldn't have to do, when she prepared our taxes as a professional CPA. And I have not yet received any official notice from the state of Pennsylvania assuring me the error has been completely resolved, therefore a certain level of stress is ongoing. I contacted Amy regarding all of this and she did not offer a refund of $150 for her services.Business response

To the complaint:
The Client reached out in the middle of the Holiday Season, during which time my office is closed. I had a brief discussion with the Client on December 29, 2021 but my office was thereafter closed until January 4, 2022. Upon the reopening of my office, I provided The Client with the corrected information/form needed to resolve the issue. At this time, there was still sufficient time to resolve any existing issues. However, The Client terminated the professional relationship with me on January 5, 2022. The document the client submitted was not the corrected form which was provided to her on Jan 5th, 2022. (not attached for client confidentiality)
Thank you for your kind attention to this matter.
