Event: 5/24/23 On 4/21/23, I ordered two tickets to an event, costing $75 each for a total of $150 (order #**********). Wednesday May 24, 2023, I attended the event which was a disaster! There were technical difficulties with the live streaming of event due to low bandwidth and internet issues; plus the main speaker I paid to see was not available to us. Friday May 26, 2023, I received an email from J.C. S******* offering a refund due to the problems with event. I emailed back requesting refund and received confirmation of request. Recently I received my visa statement for last month and REFUND NOT ISSUED; I reached out to J.C. S******* and I have not received a reply. I would like a refund as promised.

This consumer attended an event in Leechburg, PA on 5/24/23. We were the ticketing agent and one of our platforms were sponsors of the event. The $75 ticket included a buffet style meal with 12 choices, 2 premium drink tickets, and in person speakers - ***** ****, ***** *******, **** ****** and many others. Two speakers were unable to attend via video at the last moment which is completely out of our control. Those speakers were **** **** and ***** ******. The flier stated speakers were subject to change.

The restaurant, not DreamTeam Development nor any subsidiaries nor co-planners of the event, are in charge of the restaurant's internet. In addition, the pre-recorded videos of other speakers were posted online on Social Media, and personally emailed to every single attendee from the event on 5/26/23 that were not seen at the event. Those pre-recorded videos included ******* ****** from #WalkAway Campaign, and ******* ****** from Gutfeld and That Show Tonight.

This consumer attended, ate a fabulous dinner and enjoyed drinks. The videos not being able to be shown at the event was and is out of our control due to the venue's internet not being sufficient enough to withstand 100 people on their devices and 3 TV's while streaming the event live. The two speakers canceling was out of our control, and the possibility of such happening was disclosed on our flier.

DreamTeam did offer a refund pending the restaurant providing such to us. This has not yet occurred as they provided all food and drinks and their venue was completely closed for the private event. All ticket sales were paid directly to the restaurant and DreamTeam did not receive any profit from our assistance. In fact, we paid thousands of dollars on top of the ticketing. Should they refund us, we'll gladly refund this customer.

We worked tirelessly to bring together a wonderful event. Unfortunately, this customer's dissatisfaction is beyond our control.

      Thank you.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I am rejecting the Sponsor, J.C. S******* response to my complaint # ID ********, and request a full refund for the following reasons:

In responding to the platform sponsors rebuttal, J.C. S*******, founder of Wilkins Social Media, founder of Reelster, www.*******.com; had a responsibility to make sure this event was successful.  Given the fact the company/J.C. S******* builds internet websites and communications apps, one would assume internet connection/bandwidth was top priority, was investigated prior to a successful event.  To put the failure/ blame on the restaurant is absurd.

First of all this sponsor offered a refund twice, for the simple reason he knew the event was a total disaster.  He even states this in his email of June 18, 2023.  Also, nowhere in these emails does the sponsor state refunds pending on conditions.  That in itself speaks volumes of this sponsor’s reputation.

“The buffet style meal” referred to by J.C. S******* in his rebuttal consisted of horderves; fruit, cheese, and meats served on a desert sized plate.  The flier states “Fabulous Food & Drinks including 2 Drink tickets per Person”.  When I ordered my drink, I was informed that a mixed drink counted as two, but, if I ordered beer, I could have two.  In my opinion, this is false advertising used as a lure to entice people to attend.

I purchased these tickets with the understanding we would see all people advertised on the flier.  The flier does not include a disclaimer “speakers subject to change”, see attached flier.  Not only did we not see all the people due to a bad internet connection, the space was very limited and there was not enough room in the venue for all to see or hear the six in-house speakers who were present.

The restaurant is located in an older Victorian style house with several small rooms.  The main event took place in the front room, which at one time looked to be the living room of the main house.  The area which would have been the dining room was portioned off and housed a small serving area and four tables.

When we arrived, the front living room was full so we had to sit in the smaller dining room area.  There was a small TV sitting on a dining table where the event was to be streamed.  Others who arrived later were forced to sit in the large main hallway, where there was no internet streaming.

Once the event started, everyone gathered into the small living room area.  People were lined up two and three deep against the one and only wall that did not house tables and blocked the dining room entrance.  You could not move to get to the food in the hallway or service for drinks.  Even if the internet connection worked, I am not sure I could have seen the small TV sitting on the table.  This event was poorly planned.

The event was available to the public to watch FREE online so providing a link to watch online after the total failure of the event is a joke.  This sponsor had a responsibility to put on a successful event and he failed miserably.

I request a full refund per agreement.

      Regards,

This consumer thinks we own the restaurant and the internet provider in the area. We do not. She is one of two individuals that requested a refund, out of 100 tickets sold. Again, we were only the ticketing agent. Yes, we own a social media company. Yes, we work in internet. We all patronized a location and we had bandwidth issues based on Armstrong Cable - NOT DREAMTEAM.  Furthermore, this restaurant is NOT a house. It's literally an old hotel. This woman could not be more wrong in her assumptions about what our role was in this.

Again, WE ARE WAITING on the restaurant. Customer confirmed she and a gurst ate, drank and saw great speakers at. A web development company should not be dealing with this issue.

Having honestly and integrity is one of the most important qualities of a successful business.  Good business owners keep their promises.

The event was a disaster these are not my words but the words of the event organizer, J.C. S*******; Founder, Wimkin Social Media, www.******.com; Founder, Reelster, www.***********; and Dream Team Development: see email dated Friday, May 26, 2023 at 8:44AM.

In this same email, the event organizer offered a refund to the people who attended the event, with no stipulations.

I requested a refund and the event organizer agreed.  See email dated Friday, May 26, 2023 at 7:45 PM.

It is my opinion, this is deceptive business practice, and I intend to file a complaint with The Attorney General, and the Consumer Protection Office.
