      I bought a used 2020 Ford Explorer there, and when I went to pick it up, the cup holder was broken. I had to hound the service manager with 3 phone calls over a week before they got back to me. I then realized that the front passenger wheel molding was also loose and getting worse. I called and left a voicemail with the service manager. Heard nothing back. Called and left a voicemail with the Parts department. Heard nothing back. Left a message with my salesperson, Kevin, and heard nothing back. Left a voicemail with the Sales Manager... Still heard nothing back. A week later I got a voicemail asking me to schedule an oil change with them. I caled that number back and left another voicemail. Eventually, I had Bergey Ford replace the item and have been trying to reach out and left another voicemail along with emails to the Service and Sales Departments, along with my salesperson AGAIN, and still have not received any call back, any email, or any attempt to get back to me. This is not how to keep a customer.

      The John Kennedy Subaru service department in Plymouth Meeting blatantly disregarded my Tire and Wheel Protection service contract. My contract states that the term of the Agreement begins on the purchase date of the agreement (4/17/2021) and expires at the end of the term indicated on the registration page (60 months), so it expires 4/17/2026, five years after I purchased it. However, this is what happened at Kennedy. I came in on 7/3/23 to have them check my tire which kept losing air (a tire I got patched from them last year with my contract), and I showed Bill my contract. After confirming with someone next to him (Thomas) what it was, Bill said they’d get to work on it while I waited. He came to me later to say that the tire had a nail and needed to be replaced, but they were having trouble finding my contract in the system, and he took a photocopy of my agreement. Then he came back to me again to say my contract had expired and that all Subaru contracts start from the original purchase of the car from the previous owner (which would’ve been 2018). I told him I purchased this contract myself with the car in 2021, but he said it didn’t matter, it was expired, and that when they patched my car last year, Kennedy didn’t get reimbursed because it was expired then (which didn’t make sense since in 2022 it wouldn’t have been five years either way). I told him this didn’t make sense, but he even showed me a paper with the cost of the tire patch and said they didn’t bother charging me then since it was only $30. Then he handed me a quote for the tire replacement. I decided to take the car to my original dealer, A&T, even though it was a 45-minute drive away (on a dangerous tire). A&T immediately honored my contract. If I had believed Kennedy, I’d be out of almost three years’ worth of a service contract. I also want to warn others to check their contracts carefully and not simply accept this dealership’s word that it’s expired.
