I started working with this company in October 2021. There was a leak in my upstairs bathroom causing damage to the ceiling and walls of the downstairs bathroom. The leak has been going on for some time, resulting in substantial damage and mold. A plumber repaired the leak at my expense and ServiceMaster was contracted to repair the resulting damage, as covered by my insurance. In a process that took over a year, the company came out to remove the ceiling, remove the walls, treat for mold, reinstall the ceiling and walls, and paint the new surfaces. Weeks or months passed between each service. Finally they completed the ceiling and almost immediately water started coming back! I called a plumber who said there are no issues in the upstairs bathroom. I called the HVAC  team and they took pictures inside the vent. They found the vent was deteriorating from rust, likely from the leak of nearly a year and a half ago. The condensation from the open ductwork is causing condensation to develop and leak. I went back to the ServiceMaster company who said yes, they had seen the developing rust on the vent system, but decided not to replace it because they didn't think it was due to the current leak. It most assuredly was due to the leak as there had never been another issue in that area and would have been covered by my insurance company because it was all part of the structural damage caused by the leak. However since they did nothing about it and just put the surrounding roof back up the roof was immediately destroyed. Now they are demanding an additional $1,000 payment when all of their work is ruined and I need to start all over because they didnt do the job.
