On January 6th I took my cat for an emergency visit after being told that they could see him. After 2 1/2 hours and no update from the vet, I called in. I was told that they had ran labs and an x-ray and the results still needed to be read. After another 2 1/2 hours and no phone call, I called in again. This time the secretary told me that the vet was in emergency surgery and she would leave a note for a callback. An hour and a half later I arrived at the facility asking for an update on my pet. I was told by the vet tech that my cat was stable and his results still needed to be read. I requested to take him home while we wait for the results, since he was stable. I was advised that the vet still needed to assess him and they would contact me when they were finished with him. 2 hours later I arrived, again, asking to take my cat home. I still had yet to receive an update. I was placed in a bereavement room and (finally) updated by the vet on the prognosis. After discussion, I stated that a phone call would have been appreciated. The vet belligerently responded, accused me of not giving them time for a call, and even gave me a laundry list of excuses and sarcastic remarks. She asked if we still wanted treatment and I responded that we did. After reviewing our medical documents that were forwarded (4 days later), I discovered that the vet documented that I had refused fluids for my dehydrated cat because I "didn't want to wait." My cat was at this office for over 6 hours on an "emergency visit" and did not even have treatment offered to him until the end of his stay, which was forced because I had showed up. I was devastated to find that he had not been hydrated and disgusted in the false documentation, lack of professionalism, and overall neglect.
