The Capwell construction company installed a new roof on my house on ***** *** in Clarks Summit about 10 years ago.. Last summer I noticed that I had a few shingles that appeared to have come loose. I thought that it might have been wind damage so I placed a call to my insurance company. They sent out an inspector to access the damage and provide a report. The inspector found that there was no wind damage. He stated that the problem was "inferior construction" in a large number of areas of the roof. I tried reaching out to Capwell construction. I tried phoning but my calls were not returned. I sent an e-mail to the business but got no reply. I even sent a letter thru regular mail but I got no response. I now noticed that the poor construction has caused leaks to appear in 2 bedrooms on the second floor.Business response

Dear Sirs,In response to complaint # ******** we were closed the entire year of 2020 due to the Covid -19 Virus.We were closed due to a illness and subsequent death in my immediate family as well as my workers having young families that i would never want to take a chance on getting the virus. We remained closed for 2021. I have since retired but my son is going to take over the business. If our customer was trying to reach us our phones were off, no one was in the office so nothing was answered by e-mail or mail related to the business.I intend to reach out to our customer and offer a roof inspection and repair of any issues that are found. The roof is already over 10 years old so our original warranty of labor and material has expired. We are confident in our work and offer a 5 year labor warranty where as most others offer a 1 year. There will be no charge for any repairs made and i will offer this customer an additional 5 year 100% warranty to insure them that we will stand behind our work. Dear Mister *******************I am writing in regards to a complaint I filed against Mike Capwell. Thanks to your efforts and those of the BBB, my problem has been resolved. Mike Capwell reached out to me the other day and he agreed to make the necessary repairs to my roof. He and his son paid me a visit yesterday and they fixed the problem.Thank you once again for everything you did on my behalf.
