Hired Shane h**** *f s&h painting to paint my home. He advertised on Facebook so we reached and requested a quote. Explained to Shane that we would like our whole home painted. Provided us a quote that we agreed on. We purchased the paint both exterior and vinyl exterior. We paid our deposit on 6/02/2022 of $1125.00 then paid the remainder of $3700.00 on 6/22/2022. Job was allegedly completed on 7/11/2022. After inspecting the job, we noticed that only 80% of the house was completed. Shane failed to painted the dormers, the trim, as well as gutters and downspouts. Shane then said he doesn’t paint vinyl. And refused to finish the job. Note: Shane used the vinyl paint we purchased for said areas on wooded parts of home that is already peeling. Shane tried to blame my wife for error and neglect by saying she asked him not to paint those areas. But as you can see from the attached it says the home would be painted and says nothing about what wouldn’t be painted. We politely asked for him to just come and finish the job, we never asked for money back or a refund - we just want the job completed. Shane and his painters also left tape on home, cigarette butts allover yard. Completely unprofessional and now won’t return any calls or texts and refuses to finish job. Again, contract and payments and photos of job are attached. We now have to hire a second painter to come finish the job for another substantial amount of money. At this point after multiple attempts we don’t want him to come back to our home to finish I. Hopes or a poor job or anything negative. We would like a refund of some sort back for his lack of completing the job. Also, after he failed to complete the job he went onto his Facebook page and posted “completed” photos and then tried slandering us as customer. Also attached.Business response

Per the contract states after final examination of home and the customer proves there is no refunds of money for the job. We do not receive the rest of the payment until the customer approves of the job that’s done. The customer was responsible for buying the paint that was needed, there was no vinyl paint provided because the vinyl was not to be painted. The doorman and one section of the house was vinyl and neither of them were painted per the customer. Nothing is stated in the contract about painting gutter's or downspouts either. The one picture that has masking and tape on the side of the house on the windows was during the process of painting the house not after. I did forget to take masking off of one window at the very top of the house on the back porch side which I did come and remove when I came and pressure washed the gutters a couple weeks later. She mentioned pressure washing the gutters after the painting had already started so I couldn't pressure wash them until the paint was fully dry so I would not mess up the paint. Which she was not charged for as it is an add on. As per the contract I was supposed to pressure wash the house, no mention of gutters to be done till after the painting was started. As for cigarette butts all over the yard when they are smokers as well and my workers and myself are way more professional than to just leave cigarettes everywhere.
I did post completed photos because the job was completed and approved. I also did not make a Facebook post towards ***** **** and I did a walk-through of her property before she handed me a check and approved of the house. That didn’t happen on July 9th or at all for that matter. Nor was I working on her house on that day. Never good to assume.
When I went back to pressure wash the gutters she did point out a spot on the front porch and it was painted that day as well. **** mentioned during the estimate that the vinyl was not to be painted. She also never said anything when we did the walk-through together. **** first reached out about the house on July 3rd after the job was completed on June 22. Her message to me did not include anything about Dormans until July 11. After I pressure washed the gutters and painted the one spot. Which I will be attaching screenshots of some of our conversations that I do still have. I also have pictures from June 22 after the job was complete. You can also see the one window that was forgotten with tape on it. If there was something on the house that she did not approve of she did not have to pay until it was up to her standards. I forgot to mention that ****‘s girlfriend reached out to me about the contract and was supposed to have **** reach out to me after we had a conversation. **** did not reach out to me in any form of communication. This happened about two weeks after I was done pressure washing.See All Attachments
