American Iron Auction added a vehicle to a current auction and it had no photo and no bid reserve on it. So I bid $5.00 and than $25.00. American Iron Auction than hurried up and put at $1619.00 reserve on it and at $25.00 I was still considered the highest bidder. No one else was bidding so they lowered the reserve to $1200.00 trying to get someone to out bid me. They lowered it again to $1100.00 because no one was bidding still. Someone bid on it quickly because the item was closing soon. I’m reporting false advertisement and than changing the price multiple time to get someone to outbid me in a live online auction.

This is yet another example of how the BBB allows bullies a voice.  This idiot's own picture shows he bid at $25 on a car that was in the middle of being uploaded because there weren't even any pictures.  If this bozo cannot understand that a car is worth more than $25 for scrap and then proceeds to cry that someone outbid him at $1100 there is zero hope left for humanity.  It is an auction, the last bid wins, not the first.  This idiot threatened his lawyer would call and when asked for a name there were crickets.  Any rational person would understand it but it is always low end people wanting something for nothing.  Anyone in business knows complaints like this are the reason that the BBB and online reviews are becoming unreliable and useless.  We do not bow down to bullies.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********* and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I don’t want anything from this business. Just to show how unprofessional the owner acts and calls people names because they messed up not only on this bid but on other bids. Instead of owning it they resort to name calling. Just to show this review to help people document their terms and conditions prior to biding and document their bids. I don’t desire this company to fail but for them to become better.

I purchased a large generator from this consignment auction. The very first lot in the auction is a picture of different machines and the Description states yes we load. I showed up in my 2500 Silverado pickup truck and paid for the item. When I asked for help loading I was told that they do not load pickup trucks anymore. I asked if they could make an exception and was told no. I returned where I paid and asked for a refund when they sent the owner out. The guy comes out dressed in all black wearing a gun on his waist like he was going to intimidate me. He told me they don’t load trucks and don’t give refunds. I pointed out that the auction clearly said they would load my item. He began to use profanity with me and I went and found help to load my item myself. This business is clearly misleading at best and the public should be made aware. The owner is rude and very bizarre. A holstered gun?!

On 9/11/2022 I arrived at the business around 330pm and there were signs stating the yard was closed, but I seen a man walking thru the yard and I walked up to the barriers and stood on the respective side of them in the parking lot. I yelled across the yard to garner his attention. I was very respectful as I could clearly read the yard was closed but I had a simple question that would have taken minutes to answer. He casually approached me but stayed a good distance away indicating he had no interest in talking to me and said "what do you want" so I just responded respectfully that I was interested in the pallets of UTV tires he had but that there was very limited details about them and I just wanted to know the size of the 28" utv tires and he said the yard was closed and I acknowledged that and I also told him that due to my work schedule I would not be able to make it to the yard on the following day as there was a small conflict in the operating hours and my work schedule, so I told him I didn't even want to inspect the tires and asked if he could just run back and tell me the size of the 28" utv tires assuming they were all the same because they were all wrapped together on the pallet. I was eagerly hoping to buy these as we are avid side by side enthusiasts and to have a pallet off spares was worth $1000 and up to $1600 for us as we were gonna split the cost because new tires are extremely expensive and we go thru a good bit of them. The guy I was speaking to said he "was not willing to help" and walked away. Now I am aware this is not a high dollar item and likely the aggravation of itemizing and listing these is probably not worth it because the returns are probably not the greatest BUT the owner of these tires would probably like to see as much money as possible for them as this is an auction. I emailed the company on Gmail and thru Facebook and I was ultimately banned and removed from ever bidding. I would like a public apology for his arrogance.

      ******* **********
On Saturday you emailed the auction company and inquired when could you preview the items, we responded 9AM to 5PM weekdays.  You proceeded to try to make entry to the property on the next day (Sunday) and this is when the encounter happened.  There is a 4’ sign that says the yard is closed and that preview is 9AM to 5PM.  I (the owner) happened to be walking through my yard on a day off and you began to yell, I did walk over and ask what you needed and told you the inspection hours.  I did decline to walk across the yard, because you are not special and again, the yard was CLOSED.  The lot in question was at $15, plastic wrapped by the seller, and the seller gave the description, so to even see sizes the pallet would have to be cut apart. This is in fact the exact reason our company hates selling small items because of clients like you that it brings.  I did say come back during business hours, because this would be like showing up to a restaurant at 10AM when they say they open at noon and then complaining that they wouldn’t make you a burger.  Yes, you were banned because of your immature behavior, rude emails, and your partner posting to social media.  We simply don’t need to endure or tolerate your behavior.  You never bought from us in the two years that you registered for auctions, so there is zero loss here. We cannot help that you feel entitled, special and rules don’t apply to you.   You threatened to run my name through the dirt, likely because we don’t condone or comply with your harassment or bully tactics.  I am only sorry that you feel so entitled and finally came up to a business owner that doesn’t have to cave to your crass attitude.
