I bought a 2019 Harley-Davidson cvo for 35000 in February 2022 took the bike in February of this year to a different Harley-Davidson shop for some work and service and a state inspection they then informed me after running the vin number for recalls that my bike was involved in a wreck with over 7400 in damages before I bought it I think it’s a state law that highland should have disclosed that information it’s a very unethical way to do business. Now my bike is branded no one wants a wreck on the history of a motorcycle.

      Business response

      05/17/2023

It is with great regret that Highland Harley-Davidson has to adress a customer under such circumstances involving the Better Business Bureau. This customer purchased the 2019 Harley- Davidson CVO Street Glide from this dealership on Febraury 9, 2022. We traded this bike in, which was a proper representation of the product, with a clean title and in exceptional condition. The customer agreed to the terms and purchased the motorcycle.

Highland Harley-Davidson, up until this point, has not heard of any problems or concerns from the customer. In addition, we have not seen or heard from the customer for any maintainence, services or repairs on this motorcycle. It would appear that the customer was satisfied with his purchase. It was not until he wanted to trade it on another vehicle at another Dealership, that his concerns arose regarding his motorcycle.

At this time, the customer states that the vehicle was wrecked and that we did not disclose this information to him at the time of purchase. We had no information or knowledge of any damage to the motorcycle at the time of sale. It has a clean Pennsylvania title, and has not been identified as a vehicle listed in the VINCHECK Salvage Records.

It appears as though the Dealership where the customer wanted to trade this particular unit has information pertaining to some prior paint damage to the bike, which was replaced with new OEM painted parts at another Dealership. Their software seems to have the potential to inquire on past services at participating dealers. We are not required by the Harley-Davidson Motor Company to participate in the Service History Link program. Therefore we do not have access to that information. We use the experience and advice of our Lead Technician of 26 years in the service department, and seasoned Sales Manager when determining the value of motorcycles we trade.

In closing, at the time of the customer's purchase we had no knowledge of any prior damage to the motorcycle in question.

      Best Regards,
