Went into contract with ***************************** of Wertheimer monuments in Feb 2022 for a tombstone for my late father. Paid ********************* a deposit of approx $2900 The turn around time for the monument to be delivered was quoted at 4 Months , it is now a year later and there is still no monument. Have made over 30 calls to *****, maybe got him on the phone three times. He keeps claiming supply issues are holding up this transaction, we are not convinced he ever order the stone from his supplier. Back and May he blamed the cemetery for not having the foundation in place (it is there) , he also made up other "stories" as well In Jan we sent him a certified letter asking for a refund - and have not heard from himBusiness response

To whom it concerns, I have spoken to ****** on multiple occasions. I had scheduled this for mid- February. Unfortunately that date was not doable for the sandblast shop. We are prepared to schedule it again for the end of this month. The file and foundation are complete we just have to get it on the setters truck after carving.Initial Complaint

Signed a contract for a grave stone for my brother's grave at ******** Cemetery on Feb. 15, 2022. At that time sent a check made out to Wertheimer Monuments for the amount of $1,292 and a 2nd check made out to ********* Cemetery for $650. I was informed that it could take more than 6 months to get grave stone. We also signed off on the technical drawings on March 1, 2022. Beginning on July 6th, I started to try and contact the sales person that I dealt with. She emailed me back telling me she retired and gave me the owners contact information. I have emailed him numerious times and called even more. He has never responded to any emails and on a two occassions has responded to my calls. On the last response, he called me on September 29th to tell me the grave stone was in, and now was going to the sand blaster to get the engraving completed. Since then I have attempted to call and email him on November 10th and November 29th. He has failed to respond either time.Business response

We have had a few challenges with our new sandblast vendor. Various monuments have been delayed unfortunately. We will have this complete by 1/31.Tell us why here...Initial Complaint

My stepdaughter *********************** prepaid this business for a gravestone to mark the burial plot of her mother and my wife *************************. No commitment for completion and delivery date was indicated but with the understanding that we could monitor the work progress and prepare for an unveiling date. This was rescinded with no answer phone calls, no message responces,,nothing. The business refused to commit. We feel this is fraudulent. Please help.Initial Complaint

I purchased a monument and paid in full July 2021 for $7000. It’s now July 2022 and I’ve had nothing but lies told to me about why it still isn’t completed. First it was the granite delays, then it was shipping issues, then it was weather related. Next its closing the business for weeks at a time for personal travel or health issues. Then it was sandblasting issues for months. Now its covid. This owner Larry M******** has lied so many times its sad that he is doing any business anywhere. My next step is filing a civil complaint against him and his company. I also did all of this online but did go to his office that was located in a dilapidated cemetery in Upper Darby, PA. It sickens me to know that at a time of grieving he could use as his way to rip me off.Customer response
