Enquired about a property from Trout Housing on Friday 10/28 and got a call back Sunday 10/30 during the morning. Probably the weirdest phone call of my life. The man on the other side of the line didn't say a single word about the property I enquired about, he began talking about another property I didn't ask about and quickly applied pressure to try and get me to apply. He then went on a completely unprompted multi-minute rant about Penn State football, making assumptions about the Ohio State game without even watching it and mentioning that Joe P was "lied and slandered out of his job", once again completely unsolicited, I never even mentioned *******. Regardless of personal opinion regarding ******* (although I do vehemently disagree with him and think what he said was disgusting), the call was wildly unprofessional, borderline incoherent and I felt completely uncomfortable from the minute he decided to ignore the property I enquired about. I don't want to be anywhere near the guy on the other side of the line, let alone live in one of his properties for a whole year. Do not rent from Trout Housing.

The way that BBB redacted this post makes it look like we have lied and were fired which is not true. We received a phone call on Friday evening from ****. Since we are a small mom and pop business the phone rings at our home where our family with young children live. We returned ***** phone call on Sunday morning around 10 am. The very first thing we told **** was that the property is not available. Since it was Sunday morning maybe he missed this part of the conversation. We then told him about the properties we have available and to view them we would need an application which is free and of no obligation. Our son did watch the football game and we read online commentary, but I guess you are not allowed to talk about the game unless you actually watch it. We try to get a rapport with potential tenants so we talk to them to see if they are someone we want to trust with our livelihood. In hindsight of the Penn State Scandal if you are ever in a position where you find out about sexual abuse report to your boss as required by law AND directly report it to the appropriate state agency. Do not trust your boss alone. We are vehemently against child abuse but we do not think someone who reports abuse should be fired. This action makes people afraid to come forward to help victims.
