Word to word, the same experience as the complaint filed by the individual in Dec 2020. We couldn't have our wedding due to the pandemic. We essentially were forced to postpone (the venue gave us no other options). 3 months leading int our wedding, vaccines were uncertain, and lockdown was still active. When we decided to cancel, we asked if they would keep our initial deposit ($2,000) which was generous considering litlte preparation had been done for the actual event and it was more than fair compensation of their time and if they would return the remaining $13,000. They were rude, condescending, and told us they will refund us only $2,000. They told us "many couples get impatient and marry earlier than their scheduled date." The sheer insensentivity of this comment is upsetting to those that waited the whole pandemic to get married. Since their contract didn't have a force majeur clause, we had asked what our recourse would if something happened (this was before covid was a thing) and they said "you are covered by our millions of dollars in insurance." So after all of the above, when we asked to file a claim against that, they did not respond to our question. We followed up SIX times to respond to this and they didn't. My guess is that they LIED to us about being covered. We filed a complaint through BBB to get a resolution. The business did not even respond to them. Hence this review.
