Me my wife and our 2 grandchildren were vacationing in the area of barley creek brewing as Me and the wife do every year and frequent the fore mentioned. This year we took the grandchildren and on Saturday 8/10/2022 we stopped for dinner at barley creek brewing between 6:30 and 7:30 pm, I believe our servers name was ****. First off the food wasn't like it used to be and my meal wasn't satisfactory but that isn't what the complaint is about. It was my 7 year old grandsons birthday and the wife asked our server what she could bring out to surprise him and they settled on a banana split. After dinner she brought it out and all the other servers came over and they sang happy birthday as the wife videod it and he was surprised and happy. He preceeded to eat his banana split and soon was stopping and making faces with his mouth open and repeating it and we thought it was funny, he was getting brain freeze from trying to eat it to fast but then he stands up and says "it's strong"? The wife asks him what he means and tasts the ice cream and thinks it tastes like alcohol so she asks the server, **** if there is alcohol in it. Our server laughs and assures my wife and grandson it's not alcohol it's just banana extract that makes it taste like alcohol so he keeps eating it, but soon he doesn't seem to be talking right and looks funny so I reach across the table and put a spoon to the bottom and get a nice shot of rum. I call our server and tell her there is alcohol in it and a lot, she goes to find out for sure and comes back telling him to stop eating it now that it's almost gone, there was a mistake and there is alcohol in it. They did get him another one but still charged me for the alcohol one because it said 21+ under it on the bill and the full meal. I figured worse case he falls asleep early but he got sick in the car and vomited all over and we cut our vacation short. I felt the least they could do is refund the $70 for our meal but after 2 attempts I get no reply.Business response

Thank you for your letter. We have been in direct communication with our guest and believe they are satisfied with the actions we have taken. Here is a quote, in part, from his recent communication sent to us:
"Thank you for the refund and addressing this... Maybe a gift certificate for a meal for all the trouble and we can call it even and you don't lose a customer and I'll be happy and withdraw my complaint... Thank you, *****."
