I went to purchase a vehicle and the emissions light was on and the check engine light and West who is the owner told me that they would have it fixed when I picked up the car. I didn't take possession it went to the mechanic to have the part replaced. The mechanic said he had to order the part and it would take a week then he would put the part on. I waited a week texted him called him numerous times for quite a long time and gotten no response so emissions light was going on and off so about 3 weeks ago I went to the dealership and spoke to *** who did the paperwork he just brush me off so over a week ago I went back and asked to speak to us he wasn't there when she was supposed to be *** said he would give him the message took my number and he didn't call for like 3 days so I called *** again *** said he would remind him cuz he said he was busy and he still hasn't called me back yet. All I asked them to do was to replace the part that was supposed to be done when I bought the car and that was one of the terms of me buying the car was that part was replaced before I bought it and it wasn't.Initial Complaint

I leased my car in January of 2023 when I first went and got my car they told me I got approved through a bank called Westlake financial also the first day I drove my car I had to go drive without a sticker on it about 20 minutes away to get a slap and stick on my car and when I did my car ended up breaking down at a light and then the next day they told me the bank fell through so then I asked them what do I do they told me that I would pay them under the table which at first I didn’t know I was doing it under the table but I went with it anyways cause I desperately needed a car. So a couple of months pass as I’m paying then under the table I see that I’m paying interest on a car that isn’t going through a bank I just wanna get this resolved because I’m pretty sure it’s illegal to charge someone interest with no bank nor a lease I’m just paying then under the tableBusiness response

This was a customer that the bank actually sent the deal back so we were nice enough to do a in house finance for the customer. So Auto Credit Connection is listed as the lienholder. This was just to help the customer get the vehicle and not lose it. There is a signed contract with the customer and Auto Credit Connection that is a binding contract.

I only had the car for a week and the engine blew I've tried calling the business never got any satisfaction I am a single mom I have medical problems lost my job because do not have a car I need a car for doctors appointments store daughter that is in school I hope you can help me out thank youBusiness response

Hello, I am reaching out to see if you would be able to help me our give your opinion my situation. In February I purchased a 2012 Ram. When I purchased the truck I had asked the dealer specifically if the lifters were fixed because they are known to be bad. The dealer said yes they had been addressed. I proceeded to take my truck to my mechanic to get the admission inspection. On the way to my mechanic the check engine light came on, only had the truck for about 2 weeks at that point. While at my mechanics shop he pointed out that we're items that should not have passed the mechanic inspection which had a brand new sticker. I called the dealer to have this addressed and they fixed said items that shouldn't have passed. Got the truck back for about 3 days and the check engine light came back on and the truck just shutoff. I called the dealer and they had the truck towed back to their shop but made me pay for it. So far I have paid a few thousand only to be told yesterday I now need a new engine. I've had this truck since Feb 8 but have only been able to drive it about 3 weeks total. Do you think I have any kind of recourse? I'm looking at about another 7-9k for a new engine.Business response

THIS TRUCK WAS BROUGHT BACK TO US AND IT WAS SENT OUT TO J&S AUTO SERVICE (724 434 6230). LOOKING AT THE BILL THEY REPLACED CAM AND LIFTERS FUEL PUMP AND REAR BRAKE PADS. THE TOTAL BILL WE PAID WAS $2075.97. WE PAID FOR THE KNOWN ISSUE AT THAT TIME.

For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appearThey did replace rear brakes and fuel pump. However the cam and lifters were not replaced or paid for by them. I was billed for those 2 items and now I'm being told I need a new engine because they were not replaced. The dealer has lied since the beginning saying the lifters were replaced when I specifically asked before purchase.

We purchased a 2017 chevy silverado on 3/4/23. As soon as we pulled off the lot the check engine light came on. Dealership was contacted. We were to bring the truck back in a few days since their mechanic was on vacation. The truck was clunking in the rearend and slipping out of reverse, straining to go forward, it would have no power then lurch forward, check engine light, tire pressure light, traction light all on. We got to mechanic. Asked for a detailed report prior to work being done. No report or anything documented by mechanic. Got report after mechanic fudged stuff do it read like nothing was wrong. We were told he replaced several things. Nothing replaced. Truck was back to mechanic numerous times. We had the truck 3 weeks total from 3/4 til mid June. Mechanic had it for the rest. At last return we took it to our mechanic where it was found the cam shaft was bad meaning the whole engine needs replaced. It was also discovered that the dealership mechanic disconnected the check engine light so it no longer comes on which is illegal. He also charged the dealership for work never performed. Dealership will not work with us on replacing vehicle. It was said no warranty however when all the issues arose they gave a verbal 6 month warranty which they are now backing out of. Everything is documented via text, pictures and video. The truck is parked because it will not go forward even with the pedal to the floor. The mechanics name was John N******. The entire text conversation can be printed and submitted upon request. The truck would also sit at a red light and shake so bad it literally would cause drinks to almost spill. There’s too much to actually include in this complaint without adding all the texts.Business response

Thanks for your patience with our response. We wanted to check our records. We serviced this vehicle at an outside source with J&S Auto Service (724) 434 6230. The customers took the vehicle there and we spent $2945 with the service department there to take care of any issues that were reported at that time.Customer response

The truck was NEVER fixed. Their mechanic disconnected the check engine light to make it seem like it was fixed. It has been sitting in their lot since the end of July because the engine is gone. They never submitted the report to the bank and it’s now September. They performed illegal services by disconnecting the check engine light. I’m at work and can’t do a detailed response
