If you are looking to purchase anything online from G. Gedney Godwin, **** and the Sutler of Mt. Misery, I advise that you save yourself the headache and shop elsewhere, as "Misery" is certainly a suitable name.I had placed my order on January 25th and have finally received it today, April 25th. The product itself is fine, but the business practices and poor communication of G. Gedney Godwin's is atrocious.After having received no updates on my order I had initially reached out through their website's contact page on February 16th. From there it required multiple attempts to contact them by support ticket and phone call to finally receive an emailed response in early-mid March that contained excuses and a promise that they would "definitely have [it] out this week."The week passed, as did another, again with no response to my attempts to communicate. At last I received another email, complete with more excuses that implied the product had never been in stock in the first place, and further statements that it would be sent within the next week.At the start of April, with there being still no shipment notification and still no response to my queries, I requested the order to be cancelled and refunded. To no one's surprise, I received no reply. I emailed and called, again, to request a cancellation.It was not until I reached out again, now to inform them that I would be disputing the order through my bank, that I at last received a response and a tracking number, despite my multiple requests to cancel the order. I received the product a week later. It's a nice piece, but by the time it was received it was no longer needed and now only serves as a reminder to never do business with G. Gedney Godwin again.

We had a third party nonprofit submit a order for a reproduction saber, mode #368b funded by a grant this summer. We along with the nonprofit that paid for the sword, they have the check number and cancelled check which has been processed by the vendor and banks, have never received a response from this business. No matter how the vendor is contacted, email through their web site or messages left through their phone number, there is no response to the query. The nonprofit would accept a refund so the order for a reproduction saber could be made as funded by the grant. Very frustrating as I bought a item from this vendor last year with no issues. Same issues seems to be the case as seen on the BBB web site for this vendor.

I ordered products from this company on July 28, 2023. On August 1st I sent requesting an update on my order just to make sure everything was tracking. I received a response stating that some items were out of stock. Drew apologized and stated it was the time of year. I accepted this and inquired as to availability and possibility of having the items by the middle of September. Drew stated, no problem and suggested that the end of August was probable. August 31, 2023, and still no order and they are not returning any emails nor responding to phone messages. It is now the middle of October and I as of yet have any information as to when my order might be fulfilled. I understand the slow boat from China, but this is not good business. If items are not available, then the company should have that on their website so people can do business elsewhere. I would like my order completed and shipped without any further delays. Thank you

Stay away from this business. Takes your money and does not fill your order. 6 Months later and I have nothing to show for a $767 expenditure. Will not return my calls. Avoid like the plague. If I could give him zero stars, I would.
