My air conditioning has been broken since 6/8/22- I am contracted with **** ****** who subcontracted this business to fix my air conditioning. they did not come until 6/29/22 and as of 7/16/22 I have not heard back from this company nor have they fixed my air conditioning. they do not answer or return phone calls.Business response

My AC has been broken since April 2022. Filed a claim with ***** ******** Home Warranty who sent a Contractor from American Team. Issue diagnosed, AC/Condenser Unit Ordered and arrived with AMERICAN TEAM since 6/2022. I HAVE BEEN CALLING THEM ABOUT 10 TIMES A DAY. EITHER NO ONE PICKS UP THE PHONE, OR GOES TO VOICEMAIL AND THE VOICEMAIL IS FULL. WHEN YOU LEAVE A VOICEMAIL, NO ONE CALLS YOU BACK. FINALLY GOT SOMEONE ON THE PHONE, "WE ARE WAITING FOR A ***** COMPANY TO SCHEDULE A DELIVERY AND SERVICE, THE ***** COMPANY WILL CALL US 1ST WEEK OF JULY". I WAIT 1ST WEEK OF JULY, CALL THEM BACK, NO ANSWER FOR A WHOLE WEEK. FINALLY GOT SOMEONE ON THE PHONE, SORRY, ***** COMPANY SAID ***** IS NOT AVAILABLE TILL FIRST WEEK OF AUGUST. AT THIS POINT, IT'S 96F OUTSIDE AND INSIDE HOUSE TEMP IS 94F AND I HAVE A 6 MONTH OLD BABY AT HOME. OF COURSE I AM ROYALLY PISSED OFF! I OBTAIN A PRIVATE ***** COMPANY WHO CAN COME WITHIN 24 HRS ON DEMAND. I CALL AMERICAN TEAM (NO ANSWER FOR 1 WHOLE WEEK) TO SCHEDULE A DELIVERY AND REPAIR SINCE I HAVE MY OWN ***** COMPANY NOW - "OH, SORRY, WE DON'T HAVE ANY TECHNICIANS AVIALABLE". WELL, CAN YOU GIVE ME A DATE SO I COORDINATE WITH THE ***** GUY? "SORRY, WE CAN'T GIVE YOU A DATE" LIKE. HOW???!!!! OK, CAN YOU DELIVER THE AC/CONDENSER UNIT TO MY HOUSE SO THE ***** GUY CAN PUT IT ON THE ROOF WHILE I WAIT FOR YOU GUYS??? "NO, WE CAN'T DO THAT, WE HAVE TO DELIVER AND INSTALL THE UNIT OURSELVES". BUT THIS IS A UNIT THAT I PAID FOR" DOESN'T MATTER. SUFFICE TO SAY, I HAVEN'T HAD A/C SINCE APRIL 2022, ITS JULY 15TH 2022, AND AMERICAN TEAM CAN'T GIVE ME A DATE. I'M AT HOME IN MY BOXERS WITH A 6 MONTH OLD IN ONLY DIAPERS IN THE SWELTERING HEAT WHILE TYPING THIS EMAIL. SO... *** sent them out to work on my hot water system. They inaccurately assessed the leak out of a ball valve that was obviously corroded and instead went for the expansion tank and a pump flange. When doing the pump they pushed my main inlet out of place on the entire other side instead of disconnecting the line and did a ****** job of fixing it so its still leaking. They went back to *** to cover it but I'm over my coverage limits now because of an issue they created. They refuse to fix it stating its going to cost another $1400 to piece back together something they broke.Business response

On 2/7/2022 we went to the home through ******** **** ****** Warranty Co , we found multiple problems with boiler, we repaired these problems on 3/4/2022.
After that repair the home owner called us said their was another leak, We sent it into the Home Warranty Co and they said he exhausted all his money on the repairs made .
American Home Shield let him know he would have to pay for any repairs at this time cost of $1420.00 to repair.
He called us and said we caused one of the leaks (we did not cause the leak ) , we gave him a courtesy discount of $320.00 off his bill to try to satisfy him.
The total at this time would bee $1100.00

I am rejecting this response because:Hi BBB,I just saw the response from the American Team and it is an absolute lie. They did indeed cause the leak.They were sent out to diagnose a leak on the system and did a full system examination, when when they came back to do the work they moved the inlet out of place and broke a solder connection. They 100% did cause the leak and did band absolute miserable job at trying to fix it. I don’t get how anyone thinks this leak magically appeared after they did this work.The tech that came out explained to me that the leak happened during the work. He spent a couple hours trying to solder it and miserably failed. The entire inlet has to be rebuilt now and they are trying to charge me for the work.This is absolutely unacceptable.Regards,

On 10/18/2021 I placed a request for service to my heater. I was assigned a this contractor, American Team. To date, 11/9/2021, my heater has not been fixed. American Team came out several days after they were assigned to me to check the heater. It needed a part that had to be ordered. On 11/3/2021 they came to install the flame sensor that the tech determined was the issue. This apparently was not the problem and he determined that there was a different part that needed to be ordered. As of today, 11/9/2021, I have left 2 voice messages with the company. No one answers my call, no one returns my call. I reached out to ******** **** ******, my warranty company and they said they have no way to expedite the process, have refused to reassign me a new/better contractor and are saying there is nothing they can do about the issue and that they don't know when it will be resolved but that they will call me when American Team gets the part my heater needs. In the meantime, I have had to wait in a cold house with night temperatures as low as 36 degrees Fahrenheit. I have also burned out my oven in an attempt to help heat my home. The American Team repair guy who initially came to my home said that they have no way to expedite parts and that it takes 3-5 business days alone just for the part to arrive. This company only has weekday hours so I am basically at the mercy of their schedule even when the part arrives. This is beyond frustrating to me as the customer. It is Day 22 without heat in cold weather and no one seems to care. Please help me. I cant get in touch from anyone at American Team for an answer and they do not return my call after I have left messages since 11/4/2021. Thank you.Business response

Checked unit found flame sensor not sensing flame. Tried to clean and still dosnt work. Flame sensor is bad needs to be replaced

put flame sensor in still reading very low only thing that can be bad is board. Need to replace board to be replaced
WE ORDERED THE BOARD IT WILL BE IN ON 11/15/2021 WE HAVE AN APPOINTMENT ON 11/16/2021 TO INSTALL IT
IT'S TAKING LONGER THAN NORMAL TO GET PARTS BUT WE WILL HAVE THEM UP AND RUNNING SOON

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory however better communication would have been much appreciated. Twelve days will have elapsed between ordering the part and having a tech install it. The customer is literally in the cold and totally unaware and wondering the status. It would have been nice to have my calls and voicemails returned so that I would know what was the nature of the delay especially if it was something beyond American Teams control. Instead, I was left reading poor reviews about the company and thinking my job would also be mishandled. I am glad to have an idea now of when repair will be happening. My home has been cold for nearly 30 days waiting for parts.
