Took out Health insurance 1/2021. Have not used it until attempt recently, googled company to find out it is a fraudulent company (Scam). Have spent $635.68 monthly, total of 14 months-$8899.53. Need to alert other consumers to prevent future lossInitial Complaint

My first Transaction with Health Shield was by phone on was December 21, 2020. The customer agent *******, shared with me what the insurance would cover. He said that I would be charged $347.82 to begin my health insurance service with Health Shield. He transferred the call to another representative ***** and she charged my bank account the amount. The automatic monthly payment to Health Shield was: $247.88 which includes a lab fee of $46. 93 for a total of $ 3,034.69 for the year. Health Shield promised to provide me with PPO health insurance that would cover doctors visit $25, hospital ER visits $50, and they promised to cover 80%. This promise was not fulfilled. On November 11, 2021, I when for my first doctors appoint. When I received my bill for the visit, The bill said that I am responsible for 177.00. Also, the labs were not covered with the health shield insurance. the labs cost $172.64. On December 1, 2021, I visited my local hospital ER, for an emergency. Once again, when I received the bill for my visit to the ER, my total bill came to $2,311.00. The bill stated that the patient responsibility was 2,033.10 , and they only paid $227.90. The nature of my dispute is that I am an elderly women that was taken advantage of over the phone with the customer agents. They promised that my a health insurance plan would have coverage for both of these and Health Shield did not comply. When I caught on to their scam of promises, I canceled my health insurance plan on January 7, 2022. I called the customer service number to seek a resolution and they said that they could not do anything about it. They gave me the run arounds and gave me a number to speak to someone else and he said that his department does not deal with this issue. This is why I contacted the Better Business Bureau. I hope that this does not happened to another elderly person in need of good health insurance.Initial Complaint

Health shield /multiplan I insured in 2019 I was looking for doctors and the doctors I searched was not in net work none of places never heard of them and the list what. A Joke i called.few places. I spent 2280.00 if not.more I'm very upset about them
