The incident occurred today, March 22, 2022. I was running errands with my husband's aunt and we stopped to put some gas in her car. I went inside to prepay $40 on a reloadable card that had a total of $50.29 available. I had been using the same card all day at other stores with no problems. The cashier claimed that the transaction did not go through on the first attempt so I swiped my card again and received a message of partial authorization in the amount of $10.29. Again she claimed the initial $40 transaction did not process completely so I swiped my card a third time and received a Sale Declined message. Meanwhile, my husband's aunt was outside waiting to pump gas. She came inside and I filled her in on the situation. I reached out to the company that issued the card and they said it would be 8 days before they could do anything. So to summarize, the gas station I am filing a complaint against wiped out the balance on my card, refused to accept any responsibility, and my husband's aunt did not get any gas in her car.Business response

We have a gas station of Sunoco brand.
Whenever customer swipes card for x amount and transaction doesn't goes through, it reverse the transaction and x amount of money goes back to the card right away or within 24 to 48 hours depends on types of card and bank. We don't have nothing to do with that and card transaction runs by Sunoco corporates. We told customer to call their card company or bank.
