I purchased my Hyundai Elantra at Baierl Honda in Wexford, PA on 6/20/2022 with $5,000 down payment and $1,000 trade-in on my old car. I noticed I had no air conditioning on 6/24/2022. It was already very hot and humid out. I called ****, in sales, who sold me the car and told him. He told me to call the service department. I made an appointment for 6/29/2022. After almost three hours; I walked over to the service area and ****, a service advisor, told me the tech charged the unit and filled with freon. He told me it will eventually leak out. The unit was ordered. He said it would take 3-4 hours the following week to install. I called back to Honda on 7/8/2022. **** said the A/C unit just came at 3:15pm. Can install on Tues., Wed., or Thurs. next week. I chose Tues. July 12. My sister, *** and I dropped the car off at 8:30am. ****** called me at 2:12pm and said A/C blowing out cold air! I also mentioned driver's door lock not opening right away. She checked all the doors and called me back that it was the actuator and would take few days to receive from Nissan. I took my car back again to Honda on 7/21 after I noticed hot air coming from the vents on 7/19. Call from ******, service manager at Honda at 4:51pm. No one worked on my car. Left overnight to be worked on on 7/22. I asked if I could take to Hyundai dealership in Wexford and she said if I did I'd have to pay $250 deductible. After making countless phone calls to Honda on 7/22 with no response; my sister and I went to the dealership and saw ******. My door locks were done, but unable to find the leak in the A/C system, so she contacted Wexford Hyundai to take a look at my car. I arranged to take it there on 8/2 and leave for a few days. I met with ***, service manager and explained about situation with my car and hoped they could find the leak. They did. It was the compressor. I previously inquired about the date the car was inspected. The sticker read 4/22/22. Now reads 6/23.Review from Valene D.

Baierl Honda should know me well. They sold me a Honda Pilot with a 3 month warranty. Within that 90 days I had transmission issues among other things. During the warranty they claimed they fixed the issue but they didn't. It resulted in me being out thousands of dollars to replace my transmission. I'm writing this because of the sleezy business practices. During all of this I expressed my issues and told them I wanted them to buy it back from me. They said they would but only at trade in value. Well if you look at their BBB complaints it looks like someone else had a Pilot with transmissions issues and the reply from the company in March 2022 was that they purchased that person's Pilot back for market value (not trade in and as if it didn't have transmission issues). ("As a goodwill gesture we purchased the vehicle back from her at a top of the market wholesale value even though the vehicle needed a transmission") WHY WAS I NOT GIVEN THE SAME OFFER? Why was I treated differently? This is a company to stay far away from. They do not treat people fairly and do not stand behind their product.Baierl Honda Response

Please note that this was a six year old vehicle at time of purchase even though the miles were low. At that time we offered a limited powertrain warranty at time of sale. This fundamentally covers the drive train components. We offer this to make sure the fundamentals of the vehicle are covered but we do not offer a bumper to bumper warranty at this time because we recognize that the vehicle is used and we cannot make it new again. Given the road conditions and terrain in PA we often have customers request alignment on their vehicles. Unfortunately, we often have this occur even after a short period of ownership depending on where the vehicle is driven and or the road conditions. Many customers hit pot holes and bump the car out of alignment through no fault of their own. We however cant simply take responsibility for every one of these instances. If someone lets us know right away that their new or used vehicle is out of alignment, we gladly goodwill a check and correction for the issue. However, sixty days after purchase is outside of that goodwill window. In this case, the customer requested an alignment check and we performed the check and then aligned the vehicle. We do repair tires here if they are able to be repaired but we more often than not replace the tire. Before we retail a vehicle, we make sure that it passes PA state inspection standards and tires that are properly repaired do meet that standard. Reviewing Valenes complaint it seems that we did cover a number of items under our warranty. Unfortunately, regardless of how many repairs performed on a given vehicle there is no way of knowing if there will be subsequent issues in the future. Many Honda customers will tell you that they never have any issues whatsoever but there are always some who are not so fortunate. We cant predict or explain why this variance occurs. We do our due diligence prior to selling the vehicle and offer a warranty to cover components that *** fail shortly after the customer takes possession in case we missed something or the vehicle develops an issue in the immediate future. Some of the issues that ****** experienced occurred over a nearly two year period of time. We cant guarantee a vehicle for that period of time. Its certainly but there are some risks associated with buying a preowned vehicle. No matter how much due diligence a dealership does things can still happen. If there was a bulletin on this particular model does that mean there could be a design flaw from the manufacturer playing a role in some of these issues? Its really difficult to say. We are sorry for the inconvenience and expense that ******* experienced with her Honda Pilot but we have reached the extent of our goodwill with this matter.Review from R.

Summary: The team at this dealership is incredibly rude, dismissive, demeaning, and will act in anger if you dare ask them questions that they don't like. They also inflate prices based on no metric that they will explain or is supported by evidence that they will share. Finally, they will change the price throughout the time that you are looking at a vehicle and will not honor the price that you walked in at. Details: Intended on purchasing a used car from them and had an absolutely horrible experience. From the first moment I walked in to test drive the car I had called ahead about, the sales person used demeaning, sexist language. That should have been enough of a red flag, but I don't have much experience in dealerships and figured that I wouldn't be able to avoid something like that. When asking questions post-test drive, I was repeatedly cut off before my full question could be asked. He had no interest in listening to or answering my questions genuinely. Despite all of that I was still interested in the car because it was affordable and was similar to what I currently have. Ultimately, it's about the car and not the people, right? Maybe, but there is a line and they completely flew over it. I made a plan to return a couple days later to make the purchase and the sales person printed out a breakdown of the monthly payments and interest rate for me to take with me until I came back to finalize everything. I didn't notice until I got home that the price they had printed out on the summary was higher than the price from the listing I had walked in for the test drive with. I called in the morning that we agreed on for me to purchase the car to talk about the price. I mentioned the discrepancy between what was displayed and what I was offered and noted that based on the car's age and condition (stained interior, ripped/worn carpet, etc) that the value was a few thousand lower than advertised. I was attempting to ask if it was possible to meet somewhere in the middle of the advertised price and value or at least go slightly lower due to the condition. The sales person immediately cut me off before I could finish and became hostile and rude to the point of yelling a couple times during our short conversation. He said the listing price was now X (about 1K higher than the price they sent me home with less than 48 hours ago) so it didn't matter what I saw previously, what condition the car was in, or what the value was. He told me that I couldn't trust KBB, NADA, or Edmunds value calculators. I asked why and he said "you just cant". I asked what values or metrics they used to determine a price that seemingly kept going up, but before I could even finish my sentence there was a weird noise on the phone that turned out to be the sales person angrily passing the phone to the manager without so much as a comment that he was doing that. The manager said that he was told I asked to talk to him which was not true. I gave the manager a summary of what had happened and what the conversation up to that point was and he dismissed all of it and said the new price was the price and he would only lower it to the higher price I was quoted at, not the price I originally walked in the door with. Someone watched Matilda in 1996 and decided that ***** ******** was a hero because this dealership seems to pride itself on acting like all of the worst stereotypes of car dealers.

Unfortunately in the current world of shortages the prices of used cars are constantly changing. Many times they increase. We utilize proprietary software that calculates the prices based on real time market algorithms on a daily basis. We appreciate that you gave us the opportunity to try to assist you in your search for a vehicle. Hopefully you're able to find what you're looking for.
