My name is ********************* The complaint is against Valvoline Oil Change ******************* Willow Grove, Pa. ********* ***** *** *** **** .I had the oil changed on Feb. 6 in my 2022 ** *****. My wife left for Arizona, she drives it, the next day so it only had a few miles on it. On Wednesday of that week, she drove about 2 miles and called me because she was getting warning signals on the dashboard. I took it out and it flashed red and said "NO OIL. TURN OFF ENGINE." I had to tow it to a ** dealer 25 miles away because the dealer told me do not drive it. That cost $225.They discovered that the entire underside of the car was drenched in oil and that the oil filter was loose. According to their service manager it had not been torqued by that service station and was literally loose. The engine was empty.******************************** charged me $530 to diagnose the engine to be sure it was not damaged, to environmentally clean the bottom of the car because it was saturated with oil and to install a new filter and five quarts of oil. The engine may be damaged in some small ways that we will not see for a long time, but I cannot make that claim so I am asking you to reimburse me for the towing and the oil cleaning and repair. I have attached photographs of the filter and the oil soaked under carriage of the car. There is no ambiguity, no uncertainty. You made a mistake that impacted me greatly. I also had to take a day off of work to wait for the tow truck and get to the dealer. If you want to talk to the service department at ********************* **, call ************ and ask for **** though he will tell you exactly what I have said here. The company did nothing, did not respond. When I asked for an email address to send the documentation, they gave me a fake email so everything bounced back. The complaint from ***** has already been resolved. There was miscommunication on the email address that was given to ***** for him to email us. He was off by one letter, and he assumed we were avoiding him. Instead of him picking up the phone and calling us he decided to contact the BBB. Once we spoke to him, we resolved the issue amicably. We refunded him the money he spent as a good will gesture. We did not formally accept liability for this because the customer already the issue fixed elsewhere before we could investigate.
