Hired Sergio's Painting to paint second floor of my home including trim/doors. He pointed out the oil-based paint on the trim, said he would sand it and use special stuff so it would bond or else it would scratch right off. Work was done 11/29/21-12/4/21, went to look at the job the last day. They had just put a fresh coat on and were still completing the job but said it would be done to satisfaction- gave them a check for $4,550. 12/7/21 I went to look at the completed job, doors were shut, turns out ***** shut doors while paint was wet. He came out to fix them, took hours because there were plenty of additional areas that needed to be fixed. He left paint runs all over and didn't finish. 12/8/21 ******* ****** and another guy came to do touchups for about 2 hours. 12/9/21 I bumped a piece of trim and paint flaked right off. It was fine on a new piece of primed trim. Texted ******, he said I shouldn't be bumping it. That wasn't an area that had been painted during touchups.12/14/21 I moved a closet door and paint flaked off by the hinge. Texted ******, again said I shouldn't be touching anything. I said that's unrealistic and it shouldn't be happening. 12/20/21 ******************************* rep came out. Said it wasn't prepped properly, painter's fault. Paint needs to be removed so it can be done properly.12/23/21 Texted ****** about the paint coming off and I wasn't happy about the rest of the job either.12/28/21 He offered a $2K refund- I would have to sign something and he would send a check. I had a $3K estimate from another contractor to fix the trim paint, said I would take a $2,500 refund. He asked me to get more estimates.1/16/22 I emailed the 3 estimates, they were around $6K each.1/17/22 He said would sand and put oil paint on starting 1/24.1/19/22 I said I read about it yellowing so I didn't want it.1/20/22 He complained that he already bought a can of paint. We went back and forth, I requested a refund. He didn't respond. 1/28/22 Still won't respond.

11/29/21-12/4/21 Sergios Painting painted the second floor of my home. When ****** originally came out to do the estimate, he said the trim had oil-based paint on it and it needed to be sanded and that he would use special stuff on it so it would adhere, otherwise it would just scratch right off. I trusted that he did that. He was also to caulk trim and fix imperfections. I wrote a check for $4,550 made out to the owners name, *************************** (aka ******), at his request. A few days later, I went to the house and saw the doors were closed by one of his workers and it pulled the paint off. They did touchups on those areas and on multiple other spots where there were paint runs, areas they missed or where you could see through the paint, etc. The next day, I bumped an area of trim that had not been touched up and the paint flaked right off. He told me I shouldn't be touching anything. Five days later, paint flaked off of a closet door when I slightly moved it. Again, he told me not to touch anything. This was 10 days after they were done painting. I had a ******************************* paint rep come out and he confirmed that the areas had not been prepped properly and that it would need to be removed and done properly to fix the problem. I contacted ****** and he got back to me a few days later and said he would give me a refund for trim only but he wanted me to get more estimates for having the trim fixed. Once I sent him the estimates, he said it shouldn't be that expensive and that he would come sand the paint and apply another oil-based paint. I agreed but the next day found out that it will yellow over time. He says he never heard of that and wasn't happy because he already bought a can of it and had it tinted. He ended up not fixing anything, wont give me a refund, and just ignores me. He advertises his business as being licensed and insured but again, he ignored me when I asked for proof. I called the Attorney General’s office and they said his license expired on 6/25/20.
