We contacted All Season Gutters about a gutter-cleaning job. Their website said, "Our experts will stop by whenever you need us to perform an in-depth cleaning of your gutters, downspouts, elbows, and joints." An estimate from them promised "full downspout and gutter cleaning" for $232, $225 if paid by cash/check. Two men arrived and used a leaf blower to remove surface debris from the gutter guard. The "cleaning" took 20 minutes. My wife asked if they were going to flush the gutters with water to ensure everything was good. She was told no. After they left, I examined the front gutter. The leaf guard still held debris, including acorns, twigs and leaf remnants embedded in the holes. It appeared it had been only slightly "dusted" rather than "cleaned in depth" as promised. When I contacted ****, the owner, he said his men had provided "a thorough service" adding the company did not perform water flushing (a fact not mentioned on the website). Every other gutter company I've checked with since said that a water flush was essential, whether leaf guard was present or not. When I told one company spokesman with 60-years' experience that I was dealing with someone who did not do water flushing to ensure the job was complete, he laughed. saying "How else will you know if there is blockage in the downspout?" Based on the square footage of my house, and the fact I had leaf guard, one company quoted me a max ***** of $187 for a "complete" hour-long cleaning. I do not believe a simple dusting of leaf guard in less than 30 minutes, and without a test to ensure the "downspouts, elbows, and joints" were blockage free, was worth $225. All Season said the next rainstorm would be a test to see if there was overflowing. That's like a plumber not trying out the tightness of his joints, telling the homeowner to call if there's a leak. A potential problem should be checked immediately rather than rely on Mother Nature, especially when the credibility of a company is at stake.
