In July of 2019 I signed up for an anytime fitness membership at this location. When I returned to college in September I cancelled my membership. In June of 2020 (In the midst of COVID-19 when gyms were spontaneously closed and re-opened depending on case levels) they began charging my credit card again without contacting me. Because I was not expecting these charges, I did not notice they were fraudulently charging my card until September of 2021. By this point it was too late to dispute the charges with my bank. I left numerous messages and emailed this location looking for a resolution and explanation but nobody ever got back in touch with me. I attempted to stop by during staffed hours and could not find anybody to help me. When I finally got a hold of someone, they stated to me that I had signed a contract that allowed them to begin charging my card again. They told me that they had sent me emails and text messages, however I did not receive these communications and they have been unable to show me any record of sending them. They also have not been able to present the contract that I signed agreeing to the charges in June. I have spoken with individuals at the corporate office who told me they would launch an investigation and be in touch, but I never received a call back. I am seeking a refund for the months of fraudulent charges on my card for a service that I did not use, or even know I was subscribed to.Customer response
