I purchased a car from Stateline Auto sales and service on June 23, 2023. While looking at the car we determined it was making a noise and that it was the water pump. ***** said they would fix it. 6 days later the water pump burst, ***** came with their tow truck and took the vehicle and fixed the water pump. I picked the car up a couple of days later. The car continued to run hot. I was told by my mechanic that it has a blown head gasket. I texted ***** and told him I wanted my money back on the vehicle as I had nothing but problems with it since I bought it. He then had his wife *** text me and she just kept telling me to get the car to them so they could look at it. I asked them to tow it for me because it was not drivable without over heating. She said their tow truck was broken. I had to join AAA and have the car towed to them which cost me $70.00. I told them I couldnt afford to do this as the money I spent buying the car $3000.00 was money from when my mom passed away. And Ive been taking Ubers back and forth to work since the car was overheating. She texted me and said she had been driving my car all day and it was totally fine. She said the temperature gauge never moved. She was going to bring the car to me that night but texted me and said they were going to keep it another day and put a new thermostat in in the morning. She texted me when the car was ready for pick up. I ubered there to get it, ***** had my extra key and was very rude to me when he gave it to me. I started to drive the car after about 5 minutes I watched the temperature gauge go up and down my entire ride home. I texted her as soon as I got home to tell her the car was not fixed. She then told me it was probably the cluster. I still cant drive the vehicle as it is still over heating on me. I also gave him my old car to junk for me, he fixed it and tried selling it to my daughter for $2500.00

      Good Morning

This woman when purchasing this vehicle knew that the water pump was making noise we had wanted to fix it before she took the car but she insisted on taking it that day so yes 6 days later she called and asked for the water pump to be done and we went and picked up fixed and got her car back to her all at no charge,......(also may I ad that she bought this car as is as seen ) when she started calling about the car overheating she told me that her mechanic told her that the head gaskets were blown to junk iy or tell the dealership that you want your money back. I told her to get the car back to me so that we may take a look at it all she kept saying was she had no way to get the car to me. She did finally get the car to me we did drive it it never overheated not to mention by this time it had already been almost 2 months that she had the car and she still had not even registered so we got the truck back and did the diagnostic on it and looked like it was  the thermostat so we replaced that also at no charge to her we then drove the car and it never once overheated. when it was done we told her that the truck was all set she then wanted me to deliver the car to her which i told her that i could not that she would have to find her own ride. when she did finally call me or rather text me it wasnt till 2 days later to tell me that the temp gage was till showing that it was running hot but it never overheated so I told her that it could maybe be a malfunction in the cluster if the gage is saying that its running hot but its not overheating. She just continued with the nasty texts I finally had to stop responding to her. I feel we went above for her on a car that she bought as is no warranty . There is so much more I could say If someone would like to discuss this with me please give me a call @************.

      Thank You

I saved every text from *** and *****. For starters, my car is registered and has been not that it is any concern to the dealership. Also when I did have the vehicle towed to them *** texted me and told me she drove it all day and had no problems with the gauge moving to hot at all. She did make arrangements with me to bring me the vehicle but at the last minute they texted me and told me they were going to keep the vehicle over night and change the thermostat in the morning. Obviously the gauge was moving for them to replace the thermostat and try to take the cheapest way out. Once it was fixed they let me know it was all set and running fine and that I could pick it up. It took me a couple of days to get to the dealership as I have no family and people that could help with a ride. I went and picked it up and 5 minutes down the road the gauge went to hot. Up and down my entire ride home. I did text her as soon as I got home and told her what it did her response was it was probably the cluster. So they know what it was or possibly was but they chose to change the thermostat instead of the cluster because the cluster cost about $1000.00 to fix. I never said bad swear words to them, I did say the car is a piece of s*** Again I have all texts to and from them for this reason so they couldnt try lying. Again I want the car fixed correctly or my money back.

I also have kept all texts to and from and ***** has also. I have pictures and video's while driving the car showing that the car temp gage never got hot. Trying to diagnose a car that the customer says is running hot is hard to do when it didnt do it for us . the next logical step was to replace the thermostat and after removing it looked to be scored in two different spots which told us that it was getting stuck open or closed cause the customer stated that it didnt happen all the time. And when she had the car towed to us the car had the outdated temp plate on it from when she purchased the vehicle that is what led us to believe that the car was not registered

Businesses and Customers should be civil, courteous and polite in their responses to complaints. It is important to remain professional and productive when participating in the BBB complaint process.

Yes the car still had the temp plate on and all paperwork was taken out of the car because the dealership parks the car on the road with the door unlocked and I didnt want anything stolen. And it has nothing to do with the fact that the car is not fixed.

      Regards,

      *******
