I am writing to express my profound disappointment and concern regarding my experience with the Barrett Group. Unfortunately, my encounter with your organization has left me feeling manipulated and taken advantage of during a time of duress and uncertainty. On December 19, 2023, I made a payment of $9,000 to the Barrett Group, LLC, with the intention of seeking the assistance in obtaining employment (invoice number 6169). Like others, I was enticed by the Barrett Group's promise of guaranteeing multiple job offers within a span of 3-6 months, with an average starting salary of approximately $177,000. It was emphasized that the expenses incurred through your services could be easily recuperated through sign-on bonuses. I find myself entering the fifth month of the program without a single interview. This is in ***** contrast to what the recruiter initially promised, as she assured me that I would have secured a six-figure career by this point. The Barrett Group made revisions to my LinkedIn profile and resume, and I engaged in weekly meetings with my assigned coach, who demonstrated various search techniques. Regrettably, these efforts yielded no tangible outcomes. In fact, I find myself in an even more precarious position than before, as I remain unemployed and $9,000 poorer.I have conveyed my disappointment and concerns to my coach, who has been kind and empathetic. However, it is important to note that prior to joining the Barrett Group, I had explicitly expressed the unique nature of my situation. I was assured that this would pose no challenge for the Barrett Group and their extensive reach.Given the circumstances described above, I am formally requesting a refund of the $9,000 I paid to the Barrett Group. I trust that the Barrett Group will acknowledge the gravity of the situation and promptly address my request. I remain hopeful that this matter can be resolved quickly.

Issue: Failure to **************** Services and Refusal to Refund Details:I, ********, am writing to file a formal complaint against The Barrett Group for their failure to deliver the services as promised and their refusal to provide a refund for the unutilized services. Background:I entered into an agreement with The Barrett Group based on the assurances given by their representative, *******, during our initial discussions. ******* led me to believe that their services would meet specific expectations, and he explicitly promised access to the untapped job market. This conversation was held over the phone and was recorded.Breach of Agreement:To my dismay, the service provided by The Barrett Group significantly deviated from what ******* conveyed to me over the phone. This isn't just about a shift in my personal preferences or needs; it's a clear case of the promised service not matching what was delivered. I feel deceived, and I view this as deceptive business practices. As it stands, only 20% of the total service has been completed, yet I paid $12,750 for the full service.Unfair Retention of Payment:Despite only a fraction of the service being provided, The Barrett Group has retained the full payment. This is not only unfair but also reflects poorly on their business ethics and integrity. I had entered this agreement in good faith, and I believe that the onus is on The Barrett Group to rectify this situation.Request for Refund:I have communicated with ***** from The Barrett Group and reiterated my request for a full refund for the services that have not been utilized. I consider this request to be fair and in line with maintaining trust and integrity in business dealings. However, my concerns and requests seem to be taken lightly, and I have yet to receive a satisfactory response. It's been two weeks a no communication from the organization. They don't answer phone calls.

On or about October 17, 2022, I paid the Barrett Group, LLC, the sum of $9,000.00 to help with my career change. The Receipt number for this transaction was 1014-8391. The Barrett Group stated that they would guarantee within 6 months to a year that through their program, methods, and network they would find me a high paying job preferably remote, but would move to the right opportunity. I heard from numerous employees that not only would I receive an offer, but I would have numerous options and was a "catch" so I could impose a bidding war amongst potential employers. Through their training portion, The Barrett Group explained how to use LinkedIn to network, Reworked my Linkedin Profile and rewrote my resume. My coach told me to network with LinkedIn connections to find a new job. All of my quality connections or references were in the same field, and I had explained that prior to working with The Barrett Group, I had exhausted most of those contacts. I devoted most of my time outside of running my own law practice to reviewing job postings and applying for numerous jobs per week. The jobs I applied for usually did not even ****** a response, resulting in the same treatment I had experienced prior to working with The Barrett Group. The Barrett Group sent out one email blast to recruiters that resulted in nothing but "this is not my field," or "I do not have anything available, but will keep your resume in my system." I expressed my dissatisfaction with my coach and asked them to send out another blast, renew my job search campaign, or do anything they can to fulfill their promise of finding me a high paying job that was remote. It has now been over 60 days with no response. I would like my money back because the only reason I sent them money was based on their own guarantee, when I could have worked with other recruitment agencies.

I started searching for a headhunting service in June of 2022. I decided it was time to change my career. I found The Barrett Group (***) in every online search for a headhunter. I joined the *** 6/27/22 at a cost of $9,000. They stated that within 6 months to a year they would help me find a new job. I repeatedly told them that I did not want to find a new job in the same field. *** explained how to use LinkedIn to network, this is something that was covered in a few classes back in college and rewrote my resume. *** told me to network with LinkedIn connections to find a new job. All of my quality connections or references were in the same field, the majority work within the same department as me. I had no connections to fields I was looking to go into. While working full time (***** hrs) and looking for a job outside of my current field I had limited free time. In my spare time I reviewed job postings and applied for about 3 to 5 jobs per week. The jobs I applied for resulted in a lot of feedback that the job position was no longer available or had been removed. *** sent out one email blast to recruiters that resulted in nothing. I expressed my dissatisfaction with multiple *** employees and asked them to refund my money because I was having no luck in finding a new job outside of my current field using the *** program. They offered me a $1,000 refund with a signed release. I requested that *** give me a $7,000 refund with the signed release. *** has not responded to my request.

We are working with the client to resolve this complaint.

To respond in more general terms, The Barrett Group specializes in career management. One of the secrets of our success is that we teach clients how to access the unpublished market [************************************************************************************************] effectively where their chances of landing their targeted position are seven times higher than if they work only with an executive recruiter or five times higher than if they only answer published ads.  Clients who follow our process access all three of these markets and have been therefore typically fielding high quality executive offers and/or interviews in 3 to 6 months over the last few years.
