On 6/1/24 I paid *********************** $4,750 (half of the total) to begin painting my property located at ************************************************* In writing, he agreed to re-shingle the 3 dormers on the house as well as prep and paint the garage and house. He never re-shingled the dormers, but yet charged me for it with no explanation as to why it was not done. He also overcharged me for supplies. I had to ask 3 times for a receipt for paint purchased by me. He held onto the invoice because he also charged me for additional materials, ie, rags, trash bags, etc in the amount of $265. He was very unprofessional leaving trash, paint chips and oil in my driveway. My neighbors complained about the loud music and fowl language as well as the sloppy mess left behind. He didn't finish the trim on the house, nor the desk and privacy fence (where he spilled a gallon of paint). The side door area was primed but never painted. The doorbell and light switch were painted over and now have to be replace. He promised to do a walk through to finish the job but never did. I am asking for monetary damages in the amount of $5,000 (small claims court) so I can hire a more reputable contractor to finish the job.Customer response

Hello, my name is ***************************** of M&J Painting. I am texting regarding complaint #********. There is absolutely two sides to every story. I work very hard to keep all of my customers satisfied and my reputation in good standards. Most of my business is word of mouth. Unfortunately, I did not meet, agree, or enter into any type of agreement with *******************. I meet with all of my customers to understand their expectations. As I stated above, I value my reputation and would like to meet and make this right with ******************* if she agrees. I will go there with my ********* if she permits us to make this right. If you have any questions, please feel to call or text me at ************.Customer response
