May 13th, 2022, I brought my car in to get a wheel bearing replaced. ($424) Once it was completed I drove home from the shop. The next day, I continued to hear the same loud noise coming from the bearing. When the noise got worse and my car began to feel unsafe to drive, I brought it to a repair shop closer to my house because I wanted it looked at right away since I drive a long distance to work. When the mechanic near my house put my car up on the lift he had told me that my tire was pretty much falling off the car. He then told me that whoever replaced it at Uncle's Transmission did not tighten the bolts in the wheel bearing. This is a MAJOR safety concern for me and other drivers on the road. My car was at the point where I was nervous and scared to drive it. Since they forgot to tighten the bolts, it caused me to need a new set of brake pads which cost me even more money. The second repair cost me $560. So, now I'm at a total of $984 spent on a simple repair that a mechanic should NOT mess up.When I called Uncle's Transmission, the manager called me a liar and told me that if I just brought it back there, they could have fixed it. Why would I bring it back to a place that can't do the simple task of tightening bolts? The manager told me that if the 2nd mechanic called them, they could have had a tow bring the car down to them so they could fix it (which likely would have cost more money). I did not feel safe driving my car anymore than I needed to. The manager (****) couldn't even apologize and basically blamed it on me for not bringing it back there. I'm not a mechanic, and when I hear weird noises from my car and it starts to feel unsafe, I'm bringing it to a place that is close to can fix the problem quickly. I told **** that he could call the place that fixed it and he said that he would not call them as everything could be hearse. I want to get my money back from Uncle's Transmission for their mess up.Attached are my 2 receipts from both places.
