On 10/14-2021 I purchased a Leer truck cap from cap city for $1975 plus tax. They installed it, and after 4 hours they decided they could not get the tail lights to work. ***, one of the owners said it was not his fault and sent me away to drive home during rush hour on I 95 in downtown **********, **, with no tail lights. The next day I went to ********************** to have him fix the electrical problem. Turns out the installer had nocked of an electrical plug on the truck while wiring the brake light. I paid $145 for the repair. When I called *** and explained what happened, he said he would check into it. He did nothing. So far I am out a days pay, $320 and the $145 for fixing the screwup. I do have the invoice from cap city which does note that the driver side tail light was not working. This is a dangerous condition to be driving in that they left me with. And a lot of waisted money because of incompetents. I wish to recover at least the cost of repair and let others know what they are getting into if they go there.

We are sorry you have chosen to go this way instead of calling us back.  You did leave here with only the tail light not operating on the driver side.  You still had a break light on the truck and the cap.  The cap break light and the cap dome light were the only electrical components we needed to wired.  Your issue with your truck was out of our wiring control and had nothing to do with our install.  We did speak to ***** at ********************** and he confirmed with *** that this issue was a truck issue not a cap install issue.  You may have unplugged the light plug when you were working on the frame of the truck.  It may have  been mistakenly unplugged when we removed a piece of steel from the frame of the truck that did not belong there.  No one will ever know for sure.  What is important is that is is now resolved. What happened to you is not common practice here at Cap City.  We have been working on trucks for over 35 years.  We are grateful that ***** at NETC was able to help you with your issue.  We have helped him in the past too.  As for your fee of $145 to NETC we told you we would cover your charges if we were at fault for your issues.  It has been determined that we are not at fault.  However, to make peace with you, we would like to reimburse you for half of the charges, $72.50. We will credit your mastercard for that amount.  You will need to call us as we do not keep your information on file.
