C&L Services installed an air conditioning system at my home in the total amount of $7,221 on June 16, 2023. I notified them on June 30, 2023 that the system may not be functioning properly because the outside unit was pouring water and saturating the ground surrounding it. I was told this was probably normal due to the heat and thus no one came out to check the system. On the following Monday July 3, 2023 I noticed a wet spot on my ceiling, called the company to inform them and they insisted it was probably a plumbing issue and no one from the company attempted to come out at this time either. It was not a plumbing issue as *** ****** came out and found that a pipe from the air conditioning system from when the system was installed had not been properly put back together or had been knocked out of place by one of the technicians. C&L Services was immediately notified of this. This pipe leaked into a bedroom and livingroom wall saturating the floor underneath both and causing damage to the crown molding. This has now led to mold developing on the crown molding in the bedroom and it both of the walls of my home and C&L Services have not attempted to rectify their mistake thus causing me and my children to still be in a home that has mold in the walls that was not there before they installed the air conditioning system. This has also caused my family to not be able to use 1 of the 3 bedrooms in our home at this time.Business response

We only replaced her AC coil and her outside AC unit, we didn't replace the gas furnace only reconnected to it. Whenever the original system was installed, the copper freon lines as well as condensate drain line were ran over to a nearby wall, which was notched out, in order to be able to run the freon lines and drain line inside the wall and then it runs all the way down the wall (inside the wall between the sheetrock and exterior wall) until it terminates through the exterior wall. Well apparently the original installing company didnt glue the fitting on the PVC drain pipe together, and only just stuck them together without glue, but all this happened inside the wall cavity, behind the sheetrock, therefore there was no way for anyone to know about it until later on when it started to leak. When we replace a coil in the attic then we will cut the drain pipe coming from the coil, tear out and replace the cooling coil, and then reconnect the existing drain pipe back to the new coil. which is exactly what we done, again there was no way to know that the previously installed pvc drain piping in the wall was never glued as it had never leaked in her house previously and we do this kind of work all the time. So even though it wasn't technically our fault or anything that we done, I still offered to pay a mold /mildew guy to come out and inspect her home and also offered to pay for half of whatever the repair bill would be (which was going to be less than $1200) but to no avail... Anyways
I sent my guys back out to the house on numerous occasions and then even paid for a mold/mildew specialist to go out there and examine her house to give her piece of mind that nothing was "growing wildly" or dangerous to anyone's health or "getting out of hand" and that I could have some guys out there to do the repair work needed (remove approximately 6 sq ft of trim molding and 2- 16" wide x 8' tall strips of sheetrock) then of course have the mold/mildew back out to clean and treat the affected areas and then have the sheetrock/ trim and paint repaired back to the way it was before hand. But before we could even get to any of that she came on here to file a complaint against my company and then I was also served with papers for ********** *****. We then contacted her again and just informed her that there was no need in her having to pay lawyer fees and all that and that if she agreed to take down the false BBB complaint and then withdraw the summary court suit as its just a big waste of time for all involved then we would pay for half of whatever it took to make the repairs and would have had someone out there to have them made ASAP. She agreed to the deal and then we tried several times to get in contact with her to set up a time to have some guys come out and make the repairs but were unsuccessful. Finally we were able to contact her only for her to tell us that she decided that she didn't want us to have her house fixed after all and was just going to proceed with the suit...... So kinda makes you think it was about money all along. She claims that she just wants the issue resolved yet has accepted and then rejected out offers to help have this resolved more than once. Not sure what else we can do from here.
