I hired this owner \contractor to complete several items per our contract: Replace patio doors, replace Facias -and reinstall Gutters, Electrical wiring, install lights indoors and security lights outdoors. Right from the start he was rife with excuses to show up on the job. He would come do a little here, do a little there, then say he was coming back, sometimes he would, most of the time he did not. After nearly 6 mos. of being tolerant of his lack of work ethics and the unfinished parts of our contract. I had to make a decision of how to move forward. He got angry when I requested several times to come finish his work. In researching, I found out he was not a licensed electrician, when he told me he was. This was a big Red Flag. He was found in violation of proper licensing by SCLLR in SC and was fined. I took him to Small claims court. I was awarded judgment in my favor. He has not paid me my awarded money from the judgement. He performed shoddy work on the facias. And the gutters he reinstalled were not pitched correctly to drain to the downspouts. I had to hire another gutter contractor to correct all of them. He was to tear out and replace patio doors. He was paid for the new Doors. I found out through my own research, he never ordered the doors in the first place, from the beginning of the contract, after he told me he did. I've had to hire another electrician ( licensed this time ) to inspect what he did, They had to correct several items he wired incorrectly. He painted the facias with the wrong color & blamed the Paint Co. for mixing the wrong color and he did not correct error by repainting them by his own warranty. I cannot recommend this person or his company based on the behavior he's displayed to me. I offer advice to all consumers, based on my own experience. To be sure to search the SCLLR website for SC. for your contractor or potential contractor for licensing. Or call them. I'm reluctant to leave this one star rating.
