Hello, I am bringing my issue that I am having with a local tire shop Safe Hands Discount Tire located at ** ****** ****** ******** ********* ** ***** to your attention. On Nov 25, 2022, I placed an order for four Extreme Continental Tires and had it shipped to one of Simple Tires recommended installation shops. On Dec 2, 2022, the tires arrive and I went in to have all 4 tires mounted on my brand new four Rays 57CR wheels. Safehands Discount Tire damaged/chipped three out of my four wheels. They tried to justify and say that the damages are normal and it’s bound to happen when mounting tires. They then grabbed black paint to cover up the inner scratches around all three wheels and cover a chip on one of them. He said the paint will cover it. The first thing I mentioned when going there to get the tires mounted , is to ensure he doesn’t scratch my wheels. He then mentioned that,”It’s going to get scratched regardless while I am driving and it’s not a big deal.” I am upset because I spent so much money on the wheels and Safehands Discount Tire was inconsiderate about it. I then mentioned that, “There should be no visible damage on any wheels when mounting tires.” They stated,”What would you like me to do when scratches are bound to happen when mounting tires?” So I am requesting for them to be held accountable and reimbursed on the three wheels that Safehands Discount Tire has damaged. Each wheel cost me $458.14. The total amount for all three damaged wheels is $1,374.42. I have contacted them and waiting on a response. The wheels were ordered from New Provision Racing, ORDER# NPR-25109. The wheels were brand new when received from New Provision Racing. The tires were ordered from Simple Tire , Order #*******. Simple tire has generated a refund for the installation.Business response

We received your letter dated December 15, 2022 regarding the complaint by *** ***** *********.
First, Thank you for reaching out to us.
** ********* is a classic example of a customer who goes about exploiting small businesses for his own profit. As a company, we will not be able to meet his demands because we did not damage his Rims. He has his rims on his vehicle and has been driving it around town and still wants to be paid for it. If he had a legitimate complaint, he would have refused to have the wheels installed on his vehicle, possibly called law enforcement to report the incident and demand that it be corrected before he leaves the store. Instead, drove away from the shop and has since been driving around town, only to turn around and start asking to be paid for rims he has been driving and potentially scratched or damaged.
*** ********* was very rude to our staff from the moment he came in and even questioned their competence to install his wheels. When his job was completed, he tried to find every fault he could where there was none becoming loud and obnoxious and eventually drove away without paying for his services. We have decided not to serve him in the future. He should come and pay for the services rendered to him which he drove away without paying.
It is important for me to state that we offer the best services and great customer service experience in the Beaufort area which is evident in the 4.8 star rating out of 218 google reviews we have earned over the years as seen in the attached image. Our facebook and Yelp reviews sitting on 5 stars and 4.5 stars are also on the attached image.
We just refuse to be exploited by *** *********, who refuses to pay for his services, has his wheels on his vehicle driving around town and still wants to be paid for it.
