Mr ****** began bathroom and ceiling repairs in my home back in January of this year. The job required several re-visits and corrections related to issues with tub leaks, paint on ceiling coming off, seal on tub coming loose, etc after he completed the job. He was last planned to come 4/13/22 to finish the final corrections to his job and never showed or called to let me know if there was a change. I have called him many times, left several messages, texted him, emailed him, and have attempted to reach him via mail using USP certified mail service. As of this time, the mail has not been signed for per the postal office. He still has not returned any of my calls or made any attempts to correct his repairs. I am attaching pictures of the areas that he has yet to correct. The contract allowed for a one year guarantee of his work. On the llr board, his registration number is XXXXX. On the existing blown ceiling I don't know what the contractor used on it originally but after scraping off old texture and priming raw spots the new texture would not bond to Sheetrock. I made several trips and efforts to correct without really getting the proper results. The plumbing was old cast iron that could not be replaced without doing major demo so I had to really work with it to stop leaks but I was finally able to but the job was just a headache nothing went right. To many trips and time to complete. I just could not waste anymore time on that project. I would be willing to refund $500.00 to resolve this matter. I'm really disappointed to hear this and even more so that no contact was made to discuss the concerns with me after I made several attempts. The contract which was signed said all repairs are guaranteed for a year. I'm in the process of getting estimates to see how much the paint, hole in ceiling, and bathtub seal will cost to be repaired before I can agree to the $500 refund. Consumer Response /* (4200, 14, 2022/07/07) */ $500 will not cover the cost. Upon reviewing my records, Mr ****** inspected the areas twice before beginning the work. Each time he said he was able to do the job. He did have to return several times, but it was to correct previous repairs and to fulfill his contract which states his work is guaranteed for a year from completion date. He never indicated that he was unable to fulfill his obligation. His last conversation with me was he would return to complete the last bit of corrections and he never showed or returned any calls. He essentially "ghosted" me. I have had a total of 4 estimates completed by painters. All cite workmanship issues on why the paint did not stick, peeling, and uneven texture. In addition to repairing the hole that was left in my ceiling and retexturing the ceilingsthey also have to remove staples from the living room ceiling from where plastic was hung, remove paint residue from the crown molding, and repair the seal on the bathtub (a poor quality adhesive was used vs caulking). I am also worried that if something happens with the tub or bathroom tile, I will have to find and pay someone else to handle that since he is not honoring his contract. At the end of the daywe had a contract, and I paid for the work. I am asking a refund of $2,000 to cover the cost of the above.
