I paid a $5000 deposit to have a fenced installed on my property. I was told that it would be installed in 3 weeks from the time they gave me the estimate. I emailed and called several times to inquire about the installation date. I am not receiving any response back from this company.Business response

We are truly sorry for the inconvenience, and understand how frustrating it is to pay a large deposit and then experience issues communicating with the company.
During this timeframe, the company owner was away on ******** ***** orders and didn’t have phone access. The same day that Matt returned from these military orders, Ms. ***** was reached out to and the fence project was immediately scheduled, and completed within a week.

10/22/23 completion of work. When I first spoke with Matt about installing the fence he said he would get all the permits and information from the City of Lyman before proceeding. My mom also heard this conversation. I assumed it was all taken care of with the City before the job was started. Once they completed the job, upon inspection there were things not completed correctly. Matt wasn't onsite at this time so I called him to let him know I wasn't happy because the crew hadn't cemented some of the poles and the fence wasn't taken to the ground in some places. We did discuss before hand that this needed to be done so my dog couldn't climb under it. He assured me it would be. When he came to look at the fence that night he apologized saying that he had to fire his main worker and had to get help wherever he could. He came over that night and corrected those issues. I thought all was good with the fence until I received the letter from the City on 11/18/23. The fence was installed different ways (pictures attached). I asked before hand why they were different and was told by Matt that the back fence was done that way because it was easier to attach the chain link gate to. Then I was told the one on the side was installed that way for aesthetic reasons. He asked me if I was ok with that and I said yes not knowing the City of Lyman wouldn't accept it. I contacted Matt as soon as I received the letter from the city. Matt finally responded a week later (see texts attached). He asked a few questions then nothing until I texted him again 11/23/23. He responded on 11/27/23. this is the last time he responded to me. I haven't heard from anyone since. The City of Lyman has extended me 2 more weeks for this to be corrected before they start fining me. They said only the one on the side had to be corrected. The one in the back was OK since it was in the very back. I will have to pay someone else to make this correction if Henry Construction doesn't correct it within this time.Business response

Upon reviewing the Town of Lyman's website, there appears to be an form that homeowners initiate with space provided for contractors' information on fence projects. This town has a review committee similar to neighborhood HOAs, and is information provided to residents but is not common knowledge for companies that cover multiple cities, counties and states. Without additional guidance, we build everything according to the property owner's request. Per the attached screenshots of our text message conversation, each side of the fence was discussed, with options offered to build it differently.
