on September 18th of 2023 MY grandmother and myself hired 2nd wind heating and air to fix a problem with my air conditioning system they gave me a quote for installing a damper bypass and making duct corrections. they lead me to believe that they would be reworking a portion of my ducting to correct the problem this was at the end of the year that we used our air conditioning they assured us that this would be the proper fix the line item that is the largest amount says Specialized or custom repair. price includes labor and the special order of part or equipment to complete the repair all repairs come with one year warranty price 2200.44 being this was the end of the cooling season we did not use the air only the heat and have not used it until this past month about 2 weeks ago when i was informed that it had stopped working again the entire system had frozen and started leaking into my ceiling and walls we called them to come assess the problem when we where told that all they had done was add the damper and no other repairs where made and that we had essentially wasted the 2200 dollars they gave us another quote to fix it again this time being 1800 dollars again with none descript wording i have had an indepent hvac tech come and he has informed me that the work they did was far from subpar and could be causing a bigger part of the issue and that i was charge 2232 for about 200 in parts and what should have been about 500 in labor both hvac companies have said the same thing about the repairs and that the same tech from 2nd wind told us this time that we should have done this fix the first time so essentially saying that we wasted the 2232 and it would be another 2000 for them to fix what they said they had already fixed they also did not offer to cover any damages or fix in system under the 1 year warrenty they said we paid for in the qouteBusiness response

Good afternoon, our resolution for this complaint is to perform the new quoted work at no additional charge to the customer in leu of a refund. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused the customer and look forward to making this right.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: I do not trust the work to be done in good faith and have had to resort to going to another contractor to fix this issue and fix the work they already completed so having them do the work instead of a refund is not a option

Good Morning;
The issue we fixed in 10/2023 was related to a return bypass damper issue. The current issue is with the supply dampers and the unit being short on return which has been notated numerous times since 10/2023 and the drain pan being cracked which is an act of nature. Our resolution is to complete the additional work at no charge to the customer.

I am rejecting this response because:
I am unwilling to accept I have had another company come out and look the work that you did initially was done incorrectly. The drain pan is not cracked. The drain line is stopped up. I was taken and shown everything that was wrong in the attic which your technicians never tried to do, the work that was done with the ductwork that was put in for the bypass stuffed between the air conditioner and the 2 x 4 support for the roof which has it pinched severely restricting airflow I do trust that you will do the work that you say based off of the ambiguous language and experiences I have already had with your company
